MAKING A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLEHILL? Songstress Lauryn Hill has reached new diva heights by imposing an imperious rule on everyone who's working on her Fugees comeback album, including bandmates Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. "She makes everyone in the recording studio, even Wyclef and Pras, call her 'Miss Hill,' every single day," reports a Lowdown spy. "These are people she grew up with! She's beyond a diva. She thinks her s- don't stink." Yesterday a rep for the Fugees conceded Miss Hill's strict edict, but insisted that it didn't apply to the other two Fugees. "If you talk to her, she will say, 'Call me "Miss Hill," because that is who I am right now,'" said the rep. "It might be a respect thing. But what you need to know is that Wyclef and Pras call Lauryn whatever they feel like calling Lauryn."

Call me Miss Ross, anyone?

Don't you remember when she refused to be served by white waitresses, insisting that a black waitress serve her? This was in NY a few years back. Also, 'The miseducation of Lauryn Hill' was apparently written by Wyclef, whom she was having an affair with at the time. She took all the credit, though. Nothing like trading a few fucks for a best selling album.

Diana Ross.
Whitney Houston.
Kathleen Battle (by far the worst, if rumor serves us correctly.)
Mariah Carey
Halle Berry (not a diva, but still an arch stank-ho)
...and now, Lauryn Hill. (And doesn't she call herself "La-RYN"
as opposed to LO-ryn?)
The diva-bitch syndrome continues...

Ooh bloody hell the little hussy! Thanks for that, honestly hadn't heard anything bad about her before, I loved that X-Factor song too. Why only black waitresses to serve her?

Surely you must be able to come up with a few white divas too?
Let's start with Babs Streisand and Madonna

Are you serious? Oh boy, I used to be pretty indifferent to her since it's not really my kind of music, but now I hate her. Sweet Jesus, why are people such idiots?

K, this chica really has some issues
Does anybody remember people were trying to save her from this spiritual healer that had brainwashed her...soon after that she got married..she just always looks freaky/weird in all the new photos of her...imo her performance was not that great w/ The Fugees on Bet's 25, Miss Hill was very hoarse...get over yourself child...Alicia has took your place!!

She all but disappeared from the music scene after 'Miseducation' and now she wants to be a diva? Please!

Hmm...well, it's only fair...and after all...
the word diva comes from the world of opera,
where they're pretty much ALL white...but then again,
the word entered our language because of the movie,
which features a black diva, Wilhelmenia Wiggins-Hernandez
But I haven't heard many reports from the likes of
Fergie from BEPs
Gwen Stefani (although she left No Doubt, but I haven't heard anything
diva-esque about her since)
X-tina (who claims to be down with the homeys but is actually from
Wexford, on Staten Island)
Cameron "I Need You to Shave My Armpits for Me" Diaz
But Kathleen Battle is apparently more full of sh!t than any of us
realize. Once, in the back of her limo, she wanted her chauffeur
to turn on the aircon (or some such thing). But, rather than just
roll down the screen and talk to the lowly driver herself,
she called her agent,
who called the manager of the theater she was singing at,
who called the limo company,
who called the driver on his radio/carphone/whatever and
told him, "your passenger wants you to turn the aircon on."
Perhaps Ms. Hill is a much bigger star stateside than I realize.
After all, to me she just had one hit album, but a diva like Madge
had dominated the charts for at least 15 years...so her
behavior seems more justified. But Ms. Hill seems like a two-hit wonder.
