I am white, but I have a lot of black friends and I have heard them talking skin tone and I don't get it. who cares if you are light/dark, whatever?
I honestly never thought about it.

I do too, but Kelly is right in her sentiments, as are many dark skinned women. The Black women the industry tend to promote as the most 'beautiful' are the light/lighter skinned ones.

There have been other posts here about how other countries deem light/lighter skin as what constitutes beauty. Unfortunately, it's the same throughout American society also. Maybe not as 'pronounced' but there nonetheless.
