He's taken on some of the biggest, baddest men on the planet, but it's his baby mama who's hitting football stud Matt Leinart where it hurts the most -- his wallet!

TMZ has learned that the NFL pretty boy is locked in a raging legal fight with his ex-girlfriend, Brynn Cameron, over the couple's 9-month-old son Cole. According to sources close to the case, Brynn wants Matt to hand over more than $30,000 per month! That's a ton of jack for a 21-year-old living with her parents! According to sources close to the case, Leinart's pissed -- having already bought her a car, as well as voluntarily giving her around six grand a month. Leinart signed a six-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals in 2006 -- reportedly worth around $51 million.We're told Leinart's also waging a "gung-ho" battle for custody, and recently filed a petition to establish paternity. Sources tell TMZ that the former USC star already "comes back to L.A. once a week, every week, to see the baby," but he wants a schedule where he can see the kid in Arizona as well. Unlike most pro athlete dads who have kids out of wedlock, we're told Matt is an engaged father who wants to be in his son's life.

But Cameron claims she's doing all the hard work when it comes to parenting, telling the Ventura County Star that Leinart "comes and goes whenever he wants ... he likes that Hollywood stuff and I don't like that."

The two are scheduled to hammer it out in court on August 13. Attempts to contact Cameron were unsuccessful.

How $6,000 a month is not enough to raise a child is beyond me. Sounds like she is spiteful. Who knows.

These child support demands are becoming ridiculous. What does an infant need that costs one thousand dollars per day?

I'm wondering how just coming out of college and expecting MIILLLLIOOONNSS in pro football, the guy marries or gets kids at that time. When these guys turn into NFL football players, their life changes dramatically so who knows how the relationship will be like then. They should wait, get settled in the NFL life style for a few years, THEN decide to get married and have kids. But I can definitely see why the girlfriend would want to get married. A lot of gold diggers know that whoever makes the NFL will get tons of women throwing themselves at them, so they gotta lock the guy down as soon as they can. AND WTF!?? 6,000 not enough!? I'd take 1/3 of that. The only way she deserves more than that is if he cheated on her.

^ I don't think he is engaged to be wed, I would think that that would have been in the news. And if he is engaged it is not to Brynn Cameron.

They were dating in college and they broke up either right before they found out she was pregnant or shortly after they found out. She got pregnant around February of 2006 because her baby was due in November. They weren't engaged and I don't believe he cheated on her either.

He did date Paris Hilton, but I think that was when his ex was about 2-3 months pregnant and they had already ended their relationship.

$30,000 is ridiculous, but he should have known better and wrapped it up. This girl is going to rape him in child support for the next 18 years because he didn't know how to use a rubber.

No kidding! All infants need is milk and diapers, maybe a pacifier. But maybe she's getting him back for ruining her basketball career after she got pregnant. She was supposedly a pretty good player for USC.

And we all thought sleeping with Paris was his biggest mistake, turns out his biggest mistake was skipping class the day they handed out condoms and gave step-by-step directions for how to put them on in sex ed.

I read that they dated throughout college at USC. She was an athlete as well. I remember him in the LA scene w/Paris, etc then his team put the kibosh on that real quick.

I'm pretty sure that he cheated on her constantly. I remebered that he was on ESPN saying that he has a girlfriend and that he wasn't a party guy then like the next week there's these pics all over the internet of him in NYC with these two girls. One of the girls said that he was trying to get her to go home with him and I think his girlfriend dumped him because of that. there were always reports of him at parties with starlets like Shannon Doherty or pics of him drunk with random girls. Anyway, from what I could tell from their relationship, they broke up and I guess he went back for a booty call and she got knocked up.
The $30,000 is a bit excessive though. I think she's trying to get money to just pay him back for cheating on her. I think she should shut up and just take the $6000 a month
