McCartney divorce story number 931; Sir Paul and Heather Mills are reportedly planning to hold face-to-face talks to thrash out the final details of their divorce.
The former Beatle wants a “secret summit” with Mills at his American mansion so the pair can agree on terms without any lawyers being present.
A source tells The People, “Both of them want the matter resolved as soon as possible.
"Despite his fabulous fortune, Sir Paul is haemorrhaging money on legal fees. And the same goes for Heather, who admits it's like pouring cash down a bottomless pit.
“Heather is still standing her ground. But she realises talking face to face with Sir Paul is the only way to try and resolve matters."

If only they didn't have Beatrice. I'm sure that's the only reason he's still embroiled in this shit and hasn't paid her off already. Money's all she wants....

She wants all the green she can get her greedy mitts on, but she's NOT a gold digger.

I'm standing with my arms folded wearing a grimmace until they are divorced. She can live extremely well on 50 million dollars.

I think every one of these "They're so close to a settlement!" stories are from her side.
Please. He's a billionaire, he can sit and wait for ten years if he wants and pay his lawyers to mow his lawn. I think that she blew her load with those divorce papers. She thought he would be so horrified he'd just roll over, but instead everybody just likes him more and thinks she's even more evil. Now she has nothing to bargain with.

Most rich people don't like to spend money unnecessarily. They're thrifty that way, lol. And Paul is a notorious tightwad.

If he had been thinking correctly when he married her, he would have signed an air-tight prenup and avoided all this nonsense. I'm on Team Paul (Macca, for you british folk) but he got himself into this predicament.

A few Brits on the board have already said that pre-nups aren't enforceable in the UK, so it probably wouldn't have done him much good anyway.

^^^ Yeah, pretty sure that's correct.
Poor old Macca. After his marriage to Linda he believed in true love and was of an age where it would seem insulting to your prospective wife to ask her to sign a tawdry pre-nup anyway.
I'm sure he's regretting it BIG-TIME now, however......

I believe that they are enforceable only if both sides agree to it (post marriage).... however, I'm no lawyer....
Oh, I could well believe that he wants this sorted not nec for the £££s sake but for their kiddie.....

I took a quick look online and found this:
" Are they legal in the UK?
In the United Kingdom, pre-nuptial agreements currently have no legal standing. The divorce courts have the last word in the division of all matrimonial property and would ignore any pre-nuptial agreement if they thought that it was in any way unreasonable to either of the parties involved, particularly regarding to the maintenance and housing of children. For example, regardless of whose name a couple’s property is in, a court may order it to be transferred to the other. This applies to all property that is owned seperately or jointly
However, the rules for unmarried couples are quite different and legally binding contracts are enforceable so long as the couple remain unmarried. It is divorce that gives the courts jurisdiction to intervene and make orders. The widespread belief that long standing unmarried couples have rights as common law husband and wife is a myth."
