That’s the heartbreaking plea from Demi Moore’s sister-in-law, who’s currently in a bitter custody dispute with the star’s half-brother. At stake: her two adorable twin boys!
Demi Moore’s heartbroken sister-in-law tells
Star the millionaire actress is trying to lay claim to her 6-year-old twins, and that she’s doing everything in her power to resist any hostile takeover!
“I think Demi is getting too old to have kids of her own,” says Lesley Guynes, who is currently embroiled in a nasty divorce battle with the star’s half-brother, Morgan Guynes, 39, and is seeking full custody of their sons, Cooper and Oliver. “Demi and Ashton have been trying [to get pregnant] for years. She had a miscarriage two years ago…Now she is trying to get her hands on my kids!”
In an exclusive interview, Lesley, 38, tells
Star that her marriage to Guynes, a Hollywood special effects technician, crumbled in May 2006 when she found illicit text messages on his phone and photos of him having sex with a camerawoman he met while working on CSI: Miami on their home computer. Since then, she contends, Morgan has refused to fork over more then $60,000 in child and spousal support.
Now unable to make ends meet in Los Angeles , Lesley, who was awarded primary physical custody of their sons, plans to move back to her home state of Georgia .
But her soon-to-be ex wants the boys to stay behind with him- and many of his legal efforts are being bankrolled by his big sis, Demi, Lesley claims.
Despite Lesley’s assertions to the contrary, Morgan describes himself as “an active and caring parent” in a petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 9. “My older sister made a blanket generous offer to help me tend to the boys’ needs when I am at work. She made available to me and the boys her home with the support of her nanny…The boys and I count on a full staff of assistants at all times. Thus, if I am granted primary custody of the children, I will have the ability to provide for the children’s daily needs.”
Aunt Demi, who, ironically was the first person to hold the twins after Lesley gave birth (Morgan was busy operating the video camera), also does her part to pamper the kids. “She always buys them great presents- like a huge outdoor trampoline,” Lesley says. “Every year at the holidays, her assistant calls and asks what they would like.”
Meanwhile, Lesley is deeply unhappy with her currently unemployed ex, whom she calls “an unfit father.” According to Lesley, Morgan plays video games all day long, stores a stash of rifles in his garage and teaches his young children to shoot guns at a local firing range.
Moran, she tells
Star, is currently living large in a $3 million Beverly Hills estate owned by his brother-in-law, Ashton Kutcher. He allegedly has been zipping the twins around town in the actor’s Land Rover (with a license that was suspended for failure to pay child support) while failing to pay the mortgage on the West Hills, Calif. , home he shared with his wife- forcing if into foreclosure.
“From my side, I see my Morgan living in a mansion, going to celebrity parties and hanging out with the rich and famous while not doing what he should for his family,” the scorned mom laments. “I think he is one of the worst dads in California .”
In addition to the financial strain, the thought of losing her children has rendered the Emory University graduate an emotional wreck. “I am left with nothing but my boys at this point,” she says. “They are everything to me, and I can’t imagine my life without them. They make everything- even the bad stuff- worthwhile.”
Lesley insists she will “fight to the end” to keep her children, and is not about to allow anyone- even a movie star- to take them away without a major battle. “The idea that raising kids with a staff of people could be better than having them with their mother is completely ridiculous,” she insists. “All the money in the world can’t give my children what I can. I want them to have a wholesome childhood with real things not just money and glamour. It’s about sitting in the park and having picnics and driving them to school…the little intangible things.”
Demi, through her reps, denies she is trying to make any claim on her brother’s children. And despite the nasty turn her custody battle has taken, Lesley insists she still wants Morgan to have regular visitation rights and a role in their children’s lives. “I’ve even mentioned to him that my moving to Georgia would give him more time with the kids because they could come stay with him for big chunks during the summer,” she says. “But it seems that he has gotten his very wealthy family to gang up against me, which is extremely painful because here in California , they were all the family I had for many years.”
Star has learned that this isn’t the first time Demi has put her megabucks and power behind her brother. In June 2006, the actress dispatched her legal team to bail Morgan out when Lesley filed a claim of spousal abuse and had a temporary restraining order issued against him.
“We had separated, and he had decided to go back to his girlfriend,” Lesley recalls. “
That same night, at about 2 a.m., he showed up at the house and came in while I was asleep. I was scared to death and came out, and there he was in the kitchen on the computer, going through my e-mail. He was completely paranoid about these compromising pictures I found of him and his girlfriend. I think he was drunk, and he came to the house to try to delete them. Then he started to take the computer out of the kitchen, and we got into this fight. He ended up grabbing me by the wrists, throwing me on the floor and pinning me down. I was screaming. When he finally let go, I tried to call the police, but he yanked the phone out of the wall. So I ran across the street, woke my neighbor up and called the police.
That’s the start of the domestic violence case that Demi was trying to squash.
Demi offered to pay [$4,450] for mediation to keep it out of the courts,” Lesley says. “She also wanted to give me $1,500 to help me pay the bills for a month until Morgan supposedly started a new job. But the contract said two things I was opposed to: that I was to remove the domestic violence order, and that Morgan would be the sole and separate owner of the house. So I said ‘Hell no!’”
The couple eventually worked out their differences on their own. “Morgan agreed to give me primary custody of the children and stay away from the house, and I agreed to drop the restraining order.”
Morgan, an ex-Marine who served in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm was previously married to a Hollywood art director and prop master, Julie Sexsmith.
During that marriage, he fathered an illegitimate son, now 13, with another woman.
And shockingly, that boy’s mother, who prefers to remain anonymous, claims to
Star: “Demi tried to interfere with my baby, too!”
The woman contends that Morgan broke up with her after she chose not to have an abortion, and that after the child was born, he and Demi hauled her into court. “They made me put my son through an excruciating DNA test when he was only two or three weeks old,” she recalls.
“They were claiming that
Demi’s nannies and staff were more fit to raise a child than a single mom living in the Valley was. But I personally believe that Demi already had three girls and probably thought, ‘Let’s fight for custody. We’ll raise him in our family.’”
The woman claims she receives only $439 per month after garnishing Morgan’s unemployment check, and she provided Star with documents that show she is still owed approximately $110,000 in delinquent child support. She hopes to recover some portion of that through a lien she placed on the sale of Lesley and Morgan’s house.
Demi, 44, and Morgan share the same mother but have different fathers. “Both their parents are dead,” the woman says. “I think there is some kind of codependency. Demi has been bankrolling Morgan so that she can stay involved with all of his offspring and keep all of her little flock close. She’s a piece of work. Mother of the year? I don’t think so!”
