Officials have confirmed the horrifying details in the deaths of wrestling superstar Chris Benoit and his family.

In a statement by a member of the Fayetteville Sheriff's Department, "Mr, Benoit had sometime, possibly Friday, murdered his wife by asphyxiation. Sometime shortly after that, the same for his son Daniel and sometime later ... committed suicide by hanging himself in the basement area."

According to officials, Nancy was bound at the wrists and feet, with a towel wrapped around her body, and blood was found underneath her head. A Bible was also reportedly found near each one of the bodies.

Police have also confirmed that prescription drugs and steroids were found in the house.

Benoit was found hanging in a weight room in his house. Cops say that he used a cord from one of his workout machines as a makeshift noose. Authorities also believe that Benoit died on Saturday.

However it seems like a lot of wreastlers have died in recent years.... is something else going on or just out of control drugs?

WWE: Bibles Prove Benoit Killings Were Not "Roid Rage"

The WWE is firing back at claims that the murders/suicide by former wrestling champion Chris Benoit were the result of "roid rage."

After local authorities revealed that steroids were found at the chilling murder scene, several media outlets claimed that a violent reaction caused by use of the supplements may have contributed Benoit's murderous behavior. The WWE claims that assumption is pure bulls**t, although they name no criminal, psychopharmaceutical or hormone expert as the source of their claims.

In a statement released to TMZ, WWE reps claim that the proof is in the Bibles left at the feet of Benoit's two victims. "The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage."

The WWE also claims that Benoit tested negative for steroids in the company's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007.

That gallery is kinda slanted. Some of those deaths were related to non roid reasons, such as car accidents. They left out those who were known or rumored to have used roids and died young, like Candido and British Bulldog.

Andre's heart attack was related to what caused him to grow to such a huge height. Junyard Dog was driving and fell asleep.

There are many more young heart attacks and strokes than TMZ found.

British Bulldog is dead????? OK, its a while (l-o-n-g!!!) time since I saw anything on it!

^^British Bulldog died in 2002 at age 39. He died of a heart attack and those who knew him made some interesting comments about what they thought of his death. Go to wiki and read up on that.

Like I said before, some have admitted using growth substances, some have been accused or rumored to do so, and some have been investigated.

Steroids are scary stuff. My hairstylists ex husband was a weight lifter. He started taking them and his personality completely changed. He was super short fused. Always ready to hit someone. She finally got away from him.

I can't understand why these guys take them. I guess the desire to get big outweighs the risks for them

Such a sad story.

my bf and his bestfriend tried steriods for a while, bf went off them..the friend stayed on, he was such an asshole when he was still taking them..he did get huge though, and thats all he wanted, guess it didnt matter to him that he was a jerk to everyone he knew

ITA, he must've had some serious issues (for example with his mental health) to do this.
What appauls me is that no-one seems to have noticed - or did but dismissed it..... surely, surely there were signs? indications?

There had to be. I just don't see someone going from "the greatest guy" as all that knew him were saying to a killer.

I seriously cannot understand how someone can kill their OWN child. What makes people like this?! I really wish we could find out all the before and after details of this. I am nosey

I'm curious if they will do an autopsy on him. It might not have been a rage killing, but the steroids, if he was on them, might have distorted his thinking.
