Chris Benoit, family found dead
Written: June 25, 2007STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment was informed today by authorities in Fayetteville County, Ga., that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son were found dead in their home. Authorities are investigating, but no other details are available at this time.

Instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, WWE will air a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit.

Chris was beloved among his fellow Superstars, and was a favorite among WWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestling ability. He always took great pride in his performance, and always showed respect for the business he loved, for his peers and towards his fans. This is a terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss.

WWE extends its sincere condolences and prayers to the Benoit family and loved ones in this time of tragedy.

I was so shocked to read this! I read somewhere else that Chris had apparently called in a 'family emergency' stating that his family were all spitting up blood. RIP

ETA: Aha - here's where I read that...

Weird...it looks like they just removed the part about spitting up blood. It was there a moment ago, but it also states this: "This article documents a current event. Information may change rapidly as the event progresses."

so i guess Vince McMahon (the Prez of WWE or whatever it is now) was doing a storyline where he ends up being 'supposedly' dead. he stopped that storyline immediately upon the news of Benoits death.

Lt. Tommy Pope said the three were found at their home about 2:30 p.m., and the deparment was investigating the deaths as a homicide. Pope said results of autopsies were expected Tuesday

The blowing up in a limo was a part of the kayfabe (storyline). McMahon is not dead.

The Wolverine will be missed. The wrestling world is not going to be the same.

I am a huge wrestling fan and grew up watching him and my other favorites.
