Default Isaiah Washington Compares ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Firing To Persecution Of Malcom X

Quote:

Famed homophobe Isaiah Washington is comparing his recent firing from Golden Globe winning series ‘Grey’s Anatomy; to the social persecution faced by Black activists like Malcom X and Paul Robeson.
Isaiah maintains the controversy has fuelled misconceptions about him, with many forgetting the good work he does for African charities. But Washington is pragmatic about the experience: “Maybe for 50 years and the history of media and television I represent something that’s supposed to not exist.”
“This happened to Malcolm X, this happened to Paul Robeson - this misconception can happen to any man of power that loves himself and wants to spread that love and that humanity throughout the world.”

Yeah, that's right. Call someone a faggot, and you're suddenly Malcom bloody X.

Race card what? Crawl back in your hole.

I knew Isaiah would pull the race card once he got fired. Which pisses me off because when retards like him do this it takes away from those people who actually do have a legitimate discrimination complaint.

As for comparing himself to Malcolm X and Paul Robeson that's just an insult and a smack in the face to both men. Malcolm and Paul fought for the rights of their race, while Isaiah used a homophobic slur, got fired, and now he wants to be a martyr.

Note to Isaiah, there's not enough room on the cross for you and Jesus. You screwed up, got fired, now move on.

after reading the post on this board with all the name calling and bashing off other users it amazes me how up in arms people become when the word FAGGOT is thrown around. who really cares!!

the only thing annoying about this guy is that he thinks way too much of himself. they just used the word FAGGOT as an excuse to fire his ass.

I agree, and I think it's ridiculous that they're labeling him a "homophobe." I think the majority of the people who are so quick to throw that word around don't even understand what it means.

Uh, people I hate to tell you but calling someone a faggot is the same as calling someone a nigger or kike. The people who do that are rightly labelled racists and bigots. There is no difference with calling someone a faggot.

That's reality. It may not be a big deal to you, but it is to the people it's used against.

^I agree.

And yeah, Malcolm X was so great:
When Malcolm was examined for the draft, military physicians classified him to be "mentally disqualified for military service." He explained in his autobiography that he put on a display to avoid the draft by telling the examining officer that he couldn't wait to organize with other black soldiers so he could "kill some crackers." His approach worked, and he was given a classification that ensured he would not be drafted.[13]

He's never put down for his racial comments and actions though.

Well, I was still on the fence, but now I'm firmly on the side of Isaiah fading quikly back to anonymity, never to be seen nor heard from again.

People who compare themselves to historical greats are historically undeserving!

Ok, that's it! Hello, from one minority to another Isaiah-STFU!

You said something nasty and it bit you in the ass. Suck it up and be a man. By the way, not every member of a minority is straight! Remember that! Can you imagine what it is like to have racial and sexual bigotry used against you? People like this should shut their mouths and try to become long forgotten.

I hate people who use any kind of card to leverage a situation in which they were wrong. Those who have truly been discriminated against are discredited before the evidence is presented due to dumbasses like this guy.

I love it when actors compare themselves to great men and women who fought to make this world a more equal place. I don't believe that Malcolm X's battle was so that one day Isaiah could make thousands of dollars acting on tv and that Halle would win an Oscar. It was more along the lines of stopping lynchings, earning the right to vote, being allowed to sit anywhere on the bus and allowed to attend school in non-segregated towns, communities, and cities. Not being treated as second class citizens. Actors can be such self righteous, uneducated, worthless people. Morons.
