Inmate Paris Hilton scores an unlikely supporter - The Duchess of York


With less than a week to go until her release from jail, troubled heiress Paris Hilton has received a letter of sympathy from a surprise supporter - The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson.



The former royal, who spent time with Hilton at a party held aboard rapper Diddy's yacht in St Tropez last year, offered encouragement to the Hollywood It girl.


A friend of Fergie told American magazine People: "She knows that you hit obstacles in life and that you can pull out of them."

Fergie also made time to chat to Paris' parents Rick and Kathy Hilton after bumping into the couple over lunch at a Beverly Hills restaurant.


Fergie offered Kathy her "support and strength, from one mother to another," according to the pal.

Fergie reportedly said the experience could be "the making of Paris."


The friend added that Fergie "hopes that some good will come of it, and this is what she told them."

Prison spokesman Steve Whitmore said Paris is on track for her release on June 25, adding: "Ms. Hilton has been co-operative since her incarceration."

Plus, it's not like she went out of her way to support Herps. She ran into her rents and probably felt it was appropriate to make a comment of "support" for their daughter. Faaake.

Well, that's it. Knowing she'd be quoted on whatever she said, I suppose she has to keep it pretty benign.

As to Fergie's weight I think she is still a spokesperson for WW. But, at this rate, she'll be back to her Duchess of Pork days in no time.
