"Kylie Minogue won't be able to spend Christmas in her native Australia, as the doctors have told her she is in no condition to travel.
She had hoped to spend holidays at home with her family.
An inside source reported for The Sun:
“Kylie's last chemo session is on December 18 which doesn't leave much time before Christmas Day.
“She has to have a blood cell count afterwards to check she is well enough to make the very long flight. Doctors have advised her she probably won't be up to it so she's decided to stay in Paris.”
“She's distraught because it's going to be a very traumatic time for her rather than the happy family day she's planned.”
Her boyfriend Olivier Martinez will probably be supporting her for Christmas in Paris.
The beautiful singer has already made plans for what to do when she gets well. She was heard saying: “The time has come to live my life exactly how I want.”
Minogue wants to sky dive over Ayer's Rock.
“It's something I always wanted to do", Kylie confessed."

That is sad.
Maybe some of her family will go be with her. Who wouldn't love to spend Christmas in Paris?

Poor Kylie. Why isn't she getting her cancer treatment in Australia?
It really sucks to be out of your country and be sick.
I really want to go home myself, too.

That's what I was thinking. If she doesn't get to see her family then hopefully when she does return home she can celebrate Christmas all over again.
I feel for her. My Mom had breast cancer (she's okay now) and was really wiped out through the Holidays too. Everyone she knows was making an extra effort to comfort her and she was so appreciative but she was also so tired from the chemo and then radiation that she just wanted to rest. So we actually had to tell people to not come over. Of course, they totally understood. Sometimes, not being able to do something (like go home for the Holidays) seems terrible at first but it's actually a blessing in disguise and happens for a reason (she'll get much needed rest.) I hope she feels better soon.

Good point. I didn't think about that part of it. When you are that sick-you do want to be with family.

Chemotherapy can be very brutal and really does knock you sideways, especially if you have been receiving it for a long time like Kylie (not a good sign, BTW). What confuses Australians is why we were told immediately after her surgery that they had managed to 'get' the cancer and that only precautionary followup treatment would be required. Obviously they didn't 'get' it or else she'd be well on the road to recovery by now. We get almost no information now, and the Aussie press always take a keen interest. That's why she's receiving her treatment in Paris, where she can expect at least a degree of privacy. If she came home to Melbourne she'd have the press following her every move. I'm keeping everything crossed for Kylie, but I have a feeling she still has a BIG mountain to climb.

Well, my former roommate had breast cancer. They removed the lump and then put her through radiation and chemo for a year to make sure it was all gone. It was horrible for her, and she swore that if it ever came back, she'd rather just die than go through that again. It made her sick as a dog. This was like 5-6 years ago or so (as far as I know, she's still cancer-free).

That's a good point about the press wanting to know what's going on with her illness. I can also understand that the Ausssies are wanting to know how she's doing and care for her. But it's her privacy so I respect her decision to stay in Paris. But I think she must be home sick as well. With my PCOS/endometriosis scare I'm pretty destraught over it. I was on the phone with my mom the other day and just broke down and cried. She told me I can come home anytime and she'll be waiting for me. -sniff sniff, sobs-

My cousin lives near Kylie's parents and when the cancer news broke the whole street was clogged up for days with TV crews, paps, reporters and other bottom feeders. If Kylie came back to Melbourne she'd be hounded 24/7 so I don't blame her for staying away. Nothing to stop her family visiting her though. I can think of worse places to spend Chrissy than Paris.

This has been my sense for awhile. I certainly don't want to sound morbid because I truly wish Kylie all the best, but the lack of information we've received about her condition is a good indication to me that Kylie really isn't doing well.
Of course the lack of communication could be to retain her privacy- and I'm sure that's part of it - but I'm more inclined to believe it's because the news is not positive at all. Very sad!
