I quit watching after Ro left left. I really HATE Elisabeth Numbnuts.
I'd like to see Roseanne maybe...Joy needs to play a bigger role too.
When Rosie O'Donnell left The View, even Barbara Walters thought she would take the ratings with her. But Wednesday, in an interview on Ryan Seacrest's morning show, Walters explained that the benefits to Rosie's departure include more viewers - and more sex talk. Read on for excerpts!:
On replacing Rosie:
"It's very hard for anyone to follow Rosie, she's a great talent and she brought a lot of excitement and controversy, of course, to the show. So we're kind of taking our time...We need two people, as a matter of fact, because we never replaced Star Jones."
On the possibility of Whoopi Goldberg taking the empty chair:
"We've seen Whoopi, and she's someone we're considering. Whoopi is wonderful. But this is a big thing to take on...You have to be committed to it."
On The View's post-Rosie ratings:
"When Rosie left- because people used to tune in to see 'what's going to happen today'- we thought the ratings would go down. But they haven't...We are perhaps not quite as political, quite as vocal about it as Rosie was, but the topics have been very hot and very fun...and the ratings are up."
On the show's hot topics:
"We've had a lot of fun with them and there are some things we're able to discuss that we weren't able to discuss with Rosie, like heterosexual sex."
The always candid O'Donnell responded to that last remark of Walters' the way many of us would. In the Ask Ro section of her website, a fan asked her what she thought and Rosie replied, "She [Walters] is almost 80."

She is such a useless shit stain on the panties of humanity~Bitter's awesome description of K.K
We only get The View via Foxtel (pay TV). I would be tempted to subscribe again if they got Whoopi. I cancelled when they charged me $35 to replace a remote that stopped working. The remote we had from Foxtel was 10 years old.
When they came to get our set my husband kept the remote even though it was of no use to us. He ended up putting it in the trash. When I asked hubby why he kept it he quoted "SPITE" (from the Seinfeld episode)
We are Seinfeld quoters in my family, too! Even my 7 yr old son loves the show and quotes it often.
At first I liked Rosie on the view. HATED Star Jones. But towards the end I found myself getting irritated by her (Rosie) and wanted her to shut the hell up. Elisabeth H. bugs me too. But I do like Joy a lot. Whoopi would be a great co-host, IMO. Or maybe that Mario Cantone guy. He does hilarious "wrap-ups" of awards ceremonies occasionally on the view.

Wow ... now they can talk about hetero sex ... like that hasn't been done to death. When are people ever not babbling about hetero sex? It's freakin' everywhere. Sheesh.
Its so dull without Rosie. Yes, not even talking about hetero sex is making it interesting, Barbara.
Whoopie would be okay, or RuPaul, I love him!
"you call that the tractor story?"

Baba WaWa should just STFU! She has no integrity anymore..we all know she lies her ass off about how she deals with people/thinks about them on that show(Star)..and how she ass kisses. Past it senile bitch. Might as well take a corpse, fill it will formaldehyde and prop it up in her seat-could not be any less interesting than her.
I have to admit that I don't watch the view - I don't even think we get it over here. But why couldn't hetro sex be discussed before? Don't straights talk about gay sex? And who wants to talk about sex with a dried-up, jelly using 80 year old? (male or female!!!) Ewwww!
This woman needs to retire... surely????
If all those hags can find to talk about is sex, then I still find no reason to watch it.
I like that Joy chick, don't care for that lunatic, I don't know her name, that annoying republican.
Do I look like I care?
Um, they still talked about hetero sex when Ro was on and never or rarely discussed gay sex. Stuff like that embarrasses Rosie, always has as she has said many times. And BW kills that show every time she is on. It is less interesting when she is on because she has to come on and use it as a platform to push her latest interview etc. She has been friendly with the Hiltons for chrissakes.
I do not believe the ratings haven't gone down. I quit watching when Rosie left. I cannot bear the sound of EH voice or the idiotic verbage that spews from her gob. I wasn't the only one who quit either.
From what I understand the post-Rosie ratings haven't been released. I think this is BW trying to hold on to a show that is going to go back to the irrelevance it maintained before Rosie came in and upped the bar. I used to watch in the summer when I wasn't in school so I know what the show was like before and during Rosie. If they get someone intelligent on, preferably a conservative and a liberal each, the show might be saved. I think the ratings surge during Rosie's time shows that women are no longer willingly to watch makeover show after makeover show. They do want to hear about real topics that have relevance. Think what you want about Rosie, but she brought that to the table.
I like Elisabeth but I think everyone else is just obnoxious. I don't care for Whoopi and I also really hope that they're no longer considering Roseanne. I'd like to see a more moderate/conservative type because I get tired of watching everyone team up against Elisabeth while she defends her conservative beliefs, many of which I share with her. My first choice would probably be Patricia Heaton.
The only way to save this show is by filling the 2 vacant seats with Roseann Barr and Ann Coultor. Now that would be fun!!!
