Default Paris Hilton Turns Down Offer To Go To Pay Jail

PARIS TURNED DOWN PAY JAIL OPTION

Paris turned down the option of serving her 23-day sentence in an upmarket jail to prove she is “like everyone else”. The hotel heiress begun her jail term for violating her probation following a 2006 drink-driving arrest after turning herself in to Los Angeles Sheriff authorities last night at 10.30pm. Hilton claims she turned down the option of attending a “pay jail”. Speaking yesterday, she said, “I did have a choice to go to a pay jail. “But I declined because I feel like the media portrays me in a way that I’m not and that’s why I wanted to go to county, to show that I can do it and I’m going to be treated like everyone else. “I’m going to do the time, I’m going to do it the right way.”

Gosh, what a dumbass! Since when does she care what people think of her? I would have taken the pay jail if I were her.

It looks like the public is getting to her. Insecure loser!

^^ Me too, if she would of had that chance I'm sure she would have taken it.

Every normal, sane person I know would pay for a better jail if they had the funds. If she's really trying to prove something, all she's proven is that all the coke and weed have indeed diminished her brain cells.

Last night, at dinner, a friend of mine brought this up. Apparently, here in Orange County, this can be done for low level crimes, such as DUI, some probation violations, shoplifting, etc. He knew of someone that paid $100 per day to be sent to a smaller jail in another county in Northern California. The worst part was, he knew no one at all in the area and had very few visitors. But the jail was small, nicer and had only non-violent offenders. So, I guess this is offered in California.

If you have the $$ to spend, why not do it. I have a feeling in her case, it wasn't offered. She would have jumped at it in a heartbeat and wouldn't give a shit what people said about her.

I would pay the state of California to keep her in there for the full 45 day sentence. You know if it were possible, donations would pour in from all over the world in no time flat. Because people would know it's a worthy cause and money well spent. Hell, we'd even have some left over to bribe the guards to make her life miserable.

    *sigh* If only.

    BULLSHIT!!!

When they first reported this whole saga at the time the judge ruled... they said that she wasnt even "OFFERED" any other option but jail...
Wonder when the sitting judge changed his ruling?

You know I am not even excited she is in jail afterall. I can see her coming out more popular and richer than ever which makes me physically sick.

I've read that she wasn't offered any options. The judge specifically ordered that she was to report to Lynwood. I also saw this interview with her. She's so full of it. She said something to the effect "I just want everyone to know that I'm like any one else and I don't want any special treatment." Ha! That's why you petitioned Gov. Schwarzenegger to pardon you?

Yes, I think being jeered at the MTV Awards hurt her more than jail ever will. But you're right, when she gets out, it will be business as usual.

I read that the pay jail option was specifically ruled out by the judge who sentenced her. She shouldn't have shown up 15 minutes late or maybe things could be a lot easier for her. (Of course she shouldn't have been driving drunk or on a suspended license either, but you know what I mean!)
