LOHAN PARENTS TO MEET FOR LINDSAY'S SAKE By MARIANNE GARVEY

May 31, 2007 -- Lindsay Lohan's dysfunctional parents will put their mutual hatred on hold long enough to meet face to face to talk about helping their wild-child daughter, the starlet's father said yesterday. "I reached out because we have to put our differences aside and do what's best for Lindsay," Michael Lohan said. "She's all that matters. If Dina would just get on my page we can be there for Lindsay together."
Because Dina has a restraining order on her ex-husband stemming from their 2005 divorce, he is not allowed to contact her directly. Instead, Michael had his lawyer, John DiMascio, call Dina's lawyer, Eugene Russo, and set up a meeting at Russo's office.
"I want to be there for Lindsay, and I can't be stonewalled anymore. This kid needs some real help," Michael said.
In addition to alcohol, Lindsay is being treated for abuse of the painkiller OxyContin, which she was taking to treat a sprained wrist, he said.
Lindsay entered Promises rehab center in Malibu, Calif., Tuesday after a booze-fueled holiday weekend during which she crashed her Mercedes, and cops found cocaine in the car. Less than 48 hours later, she collapsed outside a Hollywood club.
A friend of the family tells People magazine that loved ones hope that now that the star has hit rock bottom, she'll turn her life around.
"We're all happy that she is where she is," said the friend. "Everybody's just been waiting [for something tragic to happen]. All of us thought there would be something soon."
The magazine also reported last night that the producers of Lohan's next film, "Poor Things" will keep her in the cast and juggle their shooting schedule around her rehabilitation.
"We wish her love and the blending of mind, body and spirit," said producers Rob Hickman and Shirley MacLaine, who will also star in the film.

oxycontin to treat a 'sprained wrist'??? You've got to be kidding me. I've broken my wrist twice and no doctor would EVER prescribe something like that for the pain.

Remember back awhile ago when Dina said something to the effect of "she's 20 years old. It's not like I can stop her from going out..."??

Yeah Dina, you could have ... now look where it's gotten you. Your cash cow is in rehab and will probably have a hard time finding work once she gets out.

Wonder which kid she'll start whoring out next...

yeah, ive had much worse pain than a sprained wrist and NEVER was I offered oxycontin. They expect us to believe a doctor gave her oxycontin for a sprained wrist???

i wish lindsay's parents would disappear. no one cares about them. I don't even know why i read half of that story.
