Alec Baldwin: "I've spent over $1 million" in custody battle

LATEST: Actor ALEC BALDWIN has dropped another bombshell in his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife KIM BASINGER by claiming in new legal papers that he has spent over $1 million (GBP555,000) fighting the case.

Baldwin dragged Basinger back into court at the beginning on November (05), claiming she had tried to turn their daughter IRELAND against him by violating a court-imposed custody order and denying him access.

And, as the hearing got more personal, Baldwin filed new legal papers on Monday (14NOV05), in which he admitted considering giving up his battle because it was costing him a fortune.

In the documents, obtained by TV news show Extra, Baldwin states, "I have spent over $1 million in custody legal fees."

The actor also accuses Basinger of turning his daughter into a spy, claiming she phones her mother frequently when she's staying with her father - to "report" on his actions.

The messy custody case continues. Both parties are expected to face each other in court next month (DEC05).

I don't think neither of them are really concerned about the welfare of the child. All they do is fight (in court legally... ) and just seem like they want to get back at each other. They should just try and get along for the sake of Ireland. That would prolly make her the happiest. It must be hard for Ireland to be torn between her parents. When will this stop????

Ireland is 10 now, so maybe if Alec and Kim keep this up another 8 years, she'll write a salacious tell-all about both of them when she turns 18.

I dont know, if you ever see Kim B. in an interview or even in a movie, she really comes across as a jittery nut job. And this stuff is from court papers, not something he's gone out to the press and moaned about.
