You'll soon be seeing a lot of Eva Longoria in L.A.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star EVA LONGORIA has become the latest celebrity ambassador for Los Angeles after signing up to front a new city-wide campaign.

The actress, who plays GABRIELLE SOLIS on the hit show, will be seen beaming from buses and billboards as the new face of the Los Angeles Convention + Visitors Bureau's 'See My LA' project, which is aimed at boosting tourism in and around Hollywood.

Longoria says, "Los Angeles is a great place to live, work and play. I am excited to be part of an effort to promote LA to visitors from around the world."

Past ambassadors have included DIANE KEATON, JAMIE LEE CURTIS, LIONEL RICHIE and boxer OSCAR DE LA HOYA.

Among the perks of becoming the face of the campaign, Longoria's image will be one of the first visitors flying to Los Angeles will see - it will grace billboards in arrivals lounges.
