Mira Sorvino finds it hard to be a working mother

Mira told People magazine: "I hate it. I feel so guilty because my kids cry so hard when I go to work.

"I know there are millions and millions of working women out in the world who face this same dilemma, but it just kind of kills me, and I don't know what to do about it."

Mira, 39, and her actor husband Christopher Backus, have two children - Mattea Angel, two and 11-month-old Johnny.

Mira recently had the inside of her trailer made "kid-friendly" so her children could join her while filming.

She said: "I've tried to make it as much fun for them as possible on the set. I got all these things to make the trailer as fun and club-housey as possible.

"I made a tent with fabric, bought a beanbag chair and put together an art table where my daughter could paint. But days on the set are a minimum of 12 hours and that's hard for them."

Keen animal rights activist Mira confessed she would love to give up working and focus on being a full-time mother if she could afford to.

She said: "I'd love it if I was independently wealthy and could stop acting and just focus on being a mom and activism."

oh, spare me. She works, what? 3 months out of the year. How does she managed such a busy lifestyle? If she's not independently wealthy, that's her own damn fault. Lord knows she had the opportunity.

She's not independently wealthy? Doesn't her family have money and she have royalties? Isn't she married to a relative of Jim Backus? Doesn't all that add up to decent enough money to stay home full-time for 5-6 years?

Oh she needs to shut up, it's not like she has to work double shifts at Waffle House in order to feed her kids. She probably only works a couple of months of the year.

I had to look up who Jim Backus is. Mr. Howell!!! hee!! Anyway, I'm not finding anything that says Jim and Christopher Backus are related, so I don't know. However, Mira certainly grew up in a privileged lifestyle. It must be agony to have to work to maintain what one has become accustomed to.

What a fucking dumbass. I have two girls, work at least 8 hrs a day out of the home (which is 1400 sq ft), and still manage.

You make the choice to bring them onset, and you are lucky enough to furnish them to make it comfortable.

LA is so much another world to me. I am so glad I do not live there, and that my children will not. Thank god there are other choices. (and these celebrities, instead of bitching, should realize that.)

she hasn't done much in years. she was a favourite of the weinsteins but fell out of favour with them. i think she had a fight with them and threatened them with taking quentin tarantino away from their production company. i doubt she is anywhere near independently wealthy. not poor but she probably needs work. don't know what her husband does. she was great in mighty aphrodite and many things actually.
