Va va voom! Extras' Ashley Jensen rocks her Hollywood makeover


Scottish actress Ashley Jensen showed off her eye-popping transformation from dowdy Extras actress to A-list knock-out at a red carpet event in New York.


The star - who appears in Ricky Gervais' popular comedy and hit show Ugly Betty - dazzled in a low-cut midnight blue gown and rocked sky-high red stilettos at a party held by the ABC network.

Dowdy no more: Ashley Jensen has gone from drab to fab


The 37-year-old, who recently married her partner, actor Terence Beesley, proved she can now keep up with the Hollywood pack.


Jensen looked right at home beside some of television most glamorous stars, including the cast of Desperate Housewives.

At the event, the network announced 11 new series planned for next season, which includes the highly anticipated Grey's Anatomy spinoff starring Kate Walsh.


Private Practice features Dr. Addison Shepherd, who leaves Seattle Grace Hospital for work in Los Angeles.

A special Grey's Anatomy - not yet aired in the UK - effectively served as the show's pilot and seen by 21 million US viewers earlier this month.

Veteran TV actors Merrin Dungey, Tim Daly, Taye Diggs and Amy Brenneman will join the cast, lead by Walsh.

Two other new series announced by the network include Dirty Sexy Money, a prime-time soap opera about a wealthy New York family and Cashmere Mafia, a Sex and the City style program about four women juggling their personal and professional lives in Manhattan.
