An exhibition of works of art by British rock star Pete Doherty, many of which are painted with his blood, went on show at a London art gallery Tuesday.
The Babyshambles frontman, known for his relationship with supermodel Kate Moss, is charging up to 45,000 pounds (66,900 euros, 89,250 dollars) for paintings on show at the Bloodworks exhibition in the plush Notting Hill area.
"Painting is a relatively new thing for him. Painting with his blood is the expression of the intensity with which he does everything," said Michael Chambati-Woodhead, director of the Bankrobber gallery showing the works.
Doherty has repeatedly sought treatment for addiction to hard drugs and in December, he was fined 770 pounds for possessing illegal drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin.
Among the 14 works on show at the gallery are "Blackbird," a collage featuring a small spoon - used by addicts for heating up heroin before injecting it - and two syringes.
