Nelly Furtado and Fergie fall out

In a reference to Nelly's worldwide hit 'Promiscuous' - which apparently contained lyrics attacking Fergie - she sings: "I ain't promiscuous, the realest chick up in this. I'm a pull your wig back!"

This is not the first time Fergie has mocked the Canadian star in her lyrics. In her hit 'Fergalicious' she also sings that she isn't "promiscuous".

A new pop war of words is being waged between Fergie and Nelly Furtado after a lyrical mix up left the Canadian feeling sore.

The Black Eyed Peas star Fergie has revealed she approached Furtado after she poked fun at her in a song on her new album and, after the two pop stars exchanged words, she felt the nasty moment had passed.

But when Furtado continued to grumble about her spat with Fergie, the Glamorous singer decided to fight back and go public with her feelings.

Speaking on Dj Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show yesterday (09May07), Fergie explained, "Something went down with the lyrics of a song and she thought I was talking about her because we had similar lyrics when our albums came out and it wasn't even true.

"So she came out with a song talking about it and I approached her and said, 'Hey, listen, is this song about me, because I heard from (producer) Scott Storch it was,' and she kinda beat around the bush a little bit... and she said, 'Yeah,' and she apologised and I said, 'OK.'

"I was willing to keep it between us, she goes on Mtv, said it wasn't about me and then I hear on YouTube she's saying it was about me, so I'm like, 'OK, which one is it?'

"She was just calling me out on a song... (and now) it's kinda like a light battle... I've said my peace. It's not like we're gonna throw down."

Fergie told Los Angeles Dj Ryan Seacrest that she and Furtado had fallen out over a lyrics mix up when she appeared on his morning show last week.

Furtado appeared on the same show yesterday morning (14May07) and admitted she was puzzled about why her pop rival was still talking about the spat.

She told the host, "We spoke about it face to face... We kinda cleared it up about a month ago... I thought it was water under the bridge.

"I threw the first punch, technically, thinking she had thrown the first punch. She told me she did not and then I said, 'You know what, I'm sorry...' I'm sure we'll be friends again in the future.

"I'm not a bully, I'm just an artist and when you're an artist you have a certain artistic license and when you feel things intuitively and you feel like you've been insulted or hurt you just react."

I can't find one word in the song 'Promiscuous' that can be even remotely related to Fergie?!
