Paris Hilton may end up spending less than half of her jail sentence behind bars, it has emerged.
Police chiefs say good behaviour and a shortage of prison cells may mean the socialite could be out three weeks into her 45-day sentence for probation violation.
"She will be treated like any other inmate who's classified as a low-level security risk," Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Los Angeles Times.
Hilton, 26, was jailed after a court ruled she had broken her probation by twice driving while banned earlier this year following a conviction for drink-driving.
A judge said her sentence would start on June 5.
Despite living in the lap of luxury all her life, Hilton said she was ready to face her punishment.
