Default Paris Hilton ordered to serve 45 days in jail

Paris Ordered to Serve 45 Days - TMZ.com

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in L.A. County jail for violating her probation in a reckless driving case. Judge Michael T. Sauer handed down the harsh sentence, telling Paris she will not be allowed work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail. She must do the time!

An emotional Paris, with tears welling up in her eyes, told the judge moments before the decision "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Witnesses inside the courtroom say that Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, were both visibly upset as the sentence was handed down. Kathy, we're told, was especially distraught.

The judge called out her rep Elliot Mintz in court, describing his testimony as "completely worthless." He also told Paris that he did not believe that she was unaware of her license suspension, adding that she had paperwork in her car stating that her license was suspended.

Paris will serve her sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF). She will begin her sentence on June 5.

    Story developing...

What a dumb ho! She even arrived to her court date 10 minutes late. I do feel a bit sorry for her. She's gonna have a really hard time in LA County Jail.

Maybe-just maybe-this will straighten her ass up. At least she will think ahead next time and consider the consequences. She is lucky she didn't kill someone-or herself. And her Mother-if she is upset by this, how in the hell would she have liked something more permenant-like death! Too bad some other judge didn't do this in the first place.
Let's see how HOT this is.

Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail
    Story Highlights
    • NEW: Hotel heiress jailed for probation violation
    • Hilton 10 minutes late for hearing
    • Probation stemmed from alcohol-related traffic violation

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will be allowed no work release, no furloughs, no use of an alternative jail and no electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The heiress had arrived for the hearing 10 minutes late in the back of a black sport utility vehicle and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

She exited the courthouse in the same manner.

Prosecutors announced earlier they were asking the judge to sentence Hilton to 45 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction.

Prosecutors also were seeking to have Hilton ordered to avoid alcohol for 90 days, wear a monitoring device that would chart whether she complies, and have the suspension of her drivers license extended for an additional four months.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

TV trucks were parked nearby to beam the news worldwide and a helicopter hovered overhead. Extra sheriff's deputies stood guard.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a September 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On January 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on February 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on January 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

    Mintz had no comment Thursday.

Hilton was also required to enroll in an alcohol education program by February 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said.

Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet.

She stars in the reality-TV series, "The Simple Life," now in its fifth season, with Nicole Richie. She appeared in the 2005 film, "House of Wax" and recently finished filming "The Hottie and the Nottie." She also is a handbag designer and has a namesake perfume.

She's only sorry because she got caught.
She's consistently lied about her license & was doing in excess of 70mph in a 35mph limit without lights.
Surely this is enough to ensure that she does her time like the man(hands) she is.
Her parents are only shocked because they've never had the balls or sense to even say NO to any of her demands. Spare the rod & spoil the child? & create a creature like this....
