Gisele Bundchen has left Victoria's Secret

Gisele Bundchen has quit as the face of Victoria's Secret lingerie, because they reportedly would not increase her $5 million annual salary.

The Brazilian supermodel - who formerly dated Leonardo DiCaprio - was the top Victoria's Secret Angel but has now ended her contract after they allegedly refused to meet her financial demands.

A source told Brazilian website Glamurana: "Her demands were outrageous. She got a new lawyer who was unrealistic. Victoria's Secret doesn't care. They have five new hotter, younger girls debuting next year. And they won't have to deal with any craziness."

Gisele's sister, Patricia Bundchen, confirmed the model had broken off her contract talks with the lingerie company.

A representative for Victoria's Secret declined to comment.

Didn't she just say she gained 15 lbs after she quit smoking? I wonder if that played into this. I have to say though, 5 million for all of her work for the entire year doesn't seem like a lot.

I agree, I thought she made right much more than that.
I think she gained some weight after those girls died from anorexia, she said she was trying to be a good role model. That's what I read somewhere.

She'll be fine she has her line of slippers/sandels, campaigns with Fendi and D&G just to name a few. She'll just do prints, which is good money. Business wise she knew it was comming, she's an elder in the modeling world. Eubanks has taken over at VS!

Really? 5 million isn't a lot for a year of work? Especially when your work is being photographed? I'd lay in human excrement from 9-5 everyday if it paid 5 mil a year.

Usually agents/agencies charge a % so in the end she got less than 5 millions.

Of course it's a ton of money for the average Joe. Let's face it though, people in "the biz" generally make much more than that for much less work. I could point to a recent example coughAngelinacough but I'll save that for another thread.

that's a whole a lot more than an average person makes. if she stops wasting money on lame things, she has plenty of money around! I would be damn happy to only be making a 1 million a year!!

According to Forbes she made $30 million last year. She has 20 contract and is the highest paid model in the world. I guess VS didn't really concern her.
