Marilyn Manson fears his music will be held responsible for Virginia massacre

Shock rocker MARILYN MANSON fears his music will be held responsible for the Virginia Tech massacre on Monday (16Apr07), just like it was after the Columbine shootings in April 1999.

The ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR hitmaker worries his music is going to come into question again as people look for someone to blame for the drama that unfolded on campus at the university on Monday, leaving 33 people dead.

In a BBC radio interview last night (18Apr07), Manson said, "I was watching it in the same way that I can remember watching the TV when Columbine happened, and just seeing it take place as any other person would.

"Then suddenly Columbine happened and my name got brought into it and I wouldn't be surprised if my name got brought into this."

Back in 1999, family groups claimed Manson's dark and brooding music encouraged student fans to launch a killing spree at Columbine High School in Colorado.

On Monday - almost eight years to the day of Columbine - English major Cho Seung-hui killed 32 people in a shooting attack and then turned the gun on himself in what was the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

Since when do college students listen to his music?? I thought he was kinda for the disillusioned youth. I cannot stand him. He makes me want to go to church.

He did get dragged out and accused A LOT over the Columbine thing, he was singled out.

In the interviews he did, he came across as nothing but blunt, realistic and sane and definitely not full of himself.

I would't be surprised if he got accused again either.

The hilarious thing was, the killers at columbine weren't even marilyn manson fans!

There are many more bands that have lyrics even darker than manson. Most people dont bother with them because they look normal. MM cops the criticism because of how he looks as well.

They are always looking for a scapegoat. Shit, I felt like killing someone more after listenning to Britney than I did after listenning to Manson. Maybe it will turn out the Cho was a huge Britney fan.

Isn't he currently promoting a new album? He would love for his name to get brought into this, no such thing as bad publicity. He's already tried to get our attention by telling us all he's banging an 18 year old.

He's probably thinking this would work to his disadvantage. Funny that he hasn't brought anything out for years and now his new album is due out in june, and this shooting happens while he's promoting it. He's probably concerned that it wont get released.

I'm in college and haven't met one single person who listens to that crap. He just has to turn it around on himself......celebrities always seem to think everythings about them.....
