or did they? Hard to say, but I saw the clip the other night when Ryan very flippantly said to a reporter, "we broke up" and thought it was a really shitty thing to do Rachel.
Quote:
Despite a denial from Rachel's rep, Us Weekly's reporting that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are on a "break.""It's a break, not a breakup," says one source, who adds that while McAdams is very dependent on Gosling, the recent Oscar nominee wants some distance so he can focus on his sizzling career. (A source had told Us last week that the couple would soon get hitched.) "It's a pivotal moment for him," says the insider. Still, McAdams "is taking it really hard because Ryan is everything to her," says a source. A third insider, who says the pair split several weeks ago, adds, "Ryan was in love with her, but it didn't work out because of their conflicting work schedules." Says the pal, "They're both miserable. Hopefully they'll get back together soon." There are a lot of little sources piping in there. This makes me sad, cause they actually seem like a really sweet couple. I'm going to attempt to do that thing they do in magazines, where the behavior experts tell you what the couple are feeling by their body language in pictures--minus the expertise, that is. I think that the root of their problem stems from the fact that Ryan is an accountant in the Wild West, and Rachel is a pop star from the 80's/the future.

So I guess Rachel was good enough for him when she'd had her "pivotal moment" and a "sizzling career" on the fringes of the A-List and he was still barely B-list, but now that he considers himself to be a "star" he doesn't have time to keep up with the relationship.

I haven't even seen the movie just because I generally hate romances and romantic comedies, but I'm a big fan of Ryan from his other movies.
I think Rachel should hook up with Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gosling should hook up with Reese Witherspoon, cause I have a feeling she's not getting any from Jake.

Break? Break up? What's the difference really? I don't see any.
And why do these celebrity couples always blame 'conflicting schedules' for their parting of ways. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that these celebs would choose their careers over love and family considering how vain they all are and how they really believe that you can change marriage partners as often as you change underwear.

Exactly. They can afford to stay home and spend time with each other if they really are committed to the relationship. They're just too greedy and self obsessed to do it.

Just because they hooked up during the filming of the movie. I guess it kinda of made it a genuine love story in a way.
