Mariah Carey has won four Vibe awards at a California ceremony.
The star, whose career collapsed in 2001, was named artist of the year and also picked up awards for best song, voice and album in the R&B category.
Four years ago Carey?s film and album both flopped, and she was dumped by record label EMI. She has just made a comeback with global hit album The Emancipation of Mimi.
?Whatever you're going through in life, don't ever give up," advised the singer.
Other awards went to The Diplomats for best group and Kanye West for best rapper. Mary J Blige got a VLegend award to honour her 15 years making music.
