BRUCE Willis is such a die-hard patriot that he's offering $1 million to any civilian who turns in terror kingpins Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The hairless Hollywood he-man announced his bounty offer on MSNBC's "Rita Cosby: Live and Direct" this week. Willis also revealed he was in talks to make a movie about the Deuce Four, the soldiers whose heroic exploits have been chronicled by embedded blogger Michael Yon. Willis complained about media coverage of the war: "I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on."

Another publicity stunt from an actor whose career is going nowhere. I notice he didn't elaborate all the good things he saw happening. I'd be curious to know what they were, because all the reports on all the blogs and international news sites I visit say that things have deteriorated, and continue to decline at a rapid pace.

Can't remember which Bush idiot it was a couple of months ago who said how wonderful Bagdhad was now that the Americans had taken over when the city had no power, virtually no running water, civilians were literally not safe to venture out of their houses and bombings, murder, kidnapping and theft were rampant. And this was more than a year after Bush's "mission accomplished" statement, surely one of the biggest missteps of this or any other presidency.

Of course, the Bush dummy said this while firmly ensconsced in the U.S. compound where the air conditioning was working in 45 degree temps, water and power were on and presumably, nobody was being murdered in front of him. According to dozens of international journalists, not ONCE did the American grand poohbahs ever venture out of the compound to see how the rest of Bagdhad was faring. Instead they stuck to the fantasy that everything was not only OK, but so much better for the average Iraqui. Utter bullshit.

I like the idea that he is wanting to spend his squillions on something real, and not a big house and 20 cars and housekeeperes and gardeners and limo's and rubbish. Its a bery good effort on Bruces part. Or I could be sarcastic and say ....Try Hard. Try Harder. Australian saying for someone who is desperately trying to be accepted . Well, Tommy Lee is spurting left-wing multiculturalist nonsense,
now speaking for the right-wing "mission accomplished" cadre is Bruce Willis.

Perhaps Willis, who complained that the press isn't reporting
the "good things," is implying censorship. He ought to read about some
real censorship:

Independent journalists have been reporting for some time now that
the US has been using banned weapons in Falluja. Iraqi doctors have noted
that many of the bodies they have examined have been “swollen, yellowish
and have no smell.” Asia Times online has reported that “Americans used
chemical weapons in the bombing of Jolan, ash-Shuhada and al-Jubayl
neighborhoods. They also say the neighborhoods were showered with cluster
bombs”; an allegation that refutes the Pentagon’s claim of “precision
bombing”.

There’s no doubt that the US “embedded” media is being prevented from
seeing the vast devastation and carnage of Falluja so they won’t be exposed
to the suspicious looking corpses that still litter the city. So far, their
collusive wall of silence has provided fairly good cover for American war
crimes. Fortunately, the truth is slowly leeching out due to the efforts of the
foreign press and independent media. Soon, the world will get a better
rendering of Washington’s “moral values” by a full vetting of transgressions in
Falluja.

American journalists are reporting on Iraq much the same way
their previous generation reported on Vietnam -- from hotels.
But in Vietnam it was largely laziness; here it's safety.

According to Robert Fisk, most American journalists (who are
famous even to insurgents) are afraid to leave the hotel for fear
of being kidnapped, so for most of the war they've been getting
footage from European reporters and splicing it into their own reports.
But now even the Europeans are afraid to go out for more than
10 minutes, as much of the city remains in "insurgent" hands and
even in "safe" areas they get mobbed by irate Iraqis.

Although I have mixed feelings about this war and feel it is a big mess, I have talked to some of the guys that have been over there and they say that there are LOTS of good things going on over there that are not being reported, and we only hear the negative. I don't have negative feelings about Bruce Willis, just because he is right wing. The terrorists are the ones we are after, and if he wants to offer a million dollars of his money for the capture of these guys then I say, "Hooray" for Bruce. I don't hear any of these other stars, with all their money, doing a damn thing except bitch. They have no answers, they just bitch because they want Bush out, but then what? I wish someone would come up with a good plan.
