Default Russell Crowe and wife have an argument in public

    11 November 2005
    RUSS ROWS WITH MISSUS
HE allegedly threw a phone at a hotel worker when he couldn’t get through to his wife … but Mrs Crowe has found it’s not always good to talk to her man, especially when Russell has been on the sauce.

We hear the angry Antipodean had a boozy row with Danielle Spencer – whom he married in April 2003 – in an upmarket London restaurant last Saturday.

Our spy reveals: “Russ and Danielle were having dinner at the Wolseley with Ridley Scott (who directed Russ in Gladiator) and his wife.

“They are all good friends and it started off in a very civilised fashion and everyone seemed to be having a good time, laughing and enjoying the fine food.”

But our mole among the menus tell us Russell was knocking it back a bit. “He got through a few aperitifs, as well as a few glasses of wine during the meal,” we’re told.

Before long Russ and 35-year-old Danielle – who have a two-year-old son Charlie – were having a heated exchange.

“The row was pretty intense and at one stage both Russell and Danielle stood up – they seemed to be having a stand-off before Danielle stormed to the toilets.” Mrs Crowe apparently stayed in the ladies for almost 20 minutes before returning to a separate table where the couple’s two minders sat.

“Tensions were running very high and it was ten minutes or so before Danielle re-joined Russell and the others. The mood didn’t look to have improved and the pair left shortly afterwards in stony silence.”

Russell is currently facing an assault charge after allegedly throwing a phone at New York hotel worker Nestor Estrada in June of this year. If found guilty, he faces up to seven years in jail.

After that incident Russell said: “This is possibly the most shameful situation I’ve ever gotten myself into in my life – and I’ve done some pretty dumb things in my life. So to make a new number one is spectacularly stupid”.

He has also said that he was petrified of letting his wife down, adding: “There are not many things that scare me in this world, but I’m absolutely terrified of disappointing her.”

In 2002 the Oscar-winning star had to apologise for shoving and swearing at a TV producer who cut short Russ’s epic BAFTA acceptance speech.

He is also embroiled in a war of words with George Clooney after criticising actors who use their fame to endorse products.

May we suggest a course of anger management classes as a Christmas gift for your temperamental spouse, Danielle?

Russell Crowe’s people were unavailable to comment.

Danielle cannot win with a jerk like Russell. This guy dosn't seem the have any capability for compromise and is getting more aggressive and difficult as he ages.
I can see him in his 50's being a pathetic, washed up alcoholic like Oliver Reed, making an ass of himself in tv interviews etc and being seen as a laughing stock by all

Whatever. A few more incidents like these and he's going to be hawking products like a street vendor in order to support his family. If famous people actually use and like the products they endorse, what's wrong with it?

he needs to lay off the sauce. but even without that, his temper is out of control at times. he needs anger management classes.

This breaks our heart. Sweetie pie and gentle giant Russell Crowe was seeing having a blazing argument with his wife in public. We really thought these two would last!

11/12/05 RUSSELL CROWE & WIFE IN HEATED PUBLIC ARGUMENT

RUSSELL Crowe, whose belligerence became legendary when he threw a phone at a Mercer Hotel clerk, got into a boozy brouhaha with his wife, Danielle, in London last week. The two were dining at a restaurant with "Gladiator" director Ridley Scott and his wife when, according to The London Mirror: "[Crowe] got through a few aperitifs as well as a few glasses of wine during the meal . . . and started having a heated exchange . . . [A]t one stage both Russell and Danielle stood up — they seemed to be having a standoff before Danielle stormed to the toilets." Danielle finally returned to a separate table, where the couple's two minders sat. "Tensions were running very high, and it was 10 minutes or so before Danielle rejoined Russell and the others. The mood didn't look to have improved, and the pair left shortly afterwards in stony silence."

I never found him as the romantic type, like a fuse ready to light. Although, I cant say that It wasnt her fault either for their argument.

I'm a big time Russell fan from way back! I mean, from, like, 1994!!!! And I'll say this about him: Yeah, he can be brutish. But he can also be the biggest, most soft-hearted pussy. Russell Crowe is a complex, highly intelligent, super talented man that don't take no bullshit. That's why I love him! Oh, and, yeah, he's damn hot! **drool**

I'm glad to finally hear about Russ and Dan having an argument. FINALLY! They're a normal couple!! Woo hoo!! And I do believe these two'll stay together. They dated when they were younger, then split apart to go after their own careers, then they went to the Oscars "as friends," and then they fell in love again, and then they got married, and then they had a baby boy. How sweet...
