She was the only one of the bunch that could actually sing so I wonder how much of this 'bullying' was actually catty backstabbing jealousy going on.

Thats not surprising. 5 girls always together- the bitchiness would have been extreme.

i keep hearing from people that she was the only one who could sing but i don't see it. she has a very shrill voice and sounds like she's shrieking half the time. not that any of the other spice girls were any better. i don't think posh even sang most of the time, she probably just stood there posing and pouting.

Mel C definately had the better voice- i dont think the rest of them could sing at all. In most of their songs you can hear her voice carrying it.

Oh finally someone who thinks like me.

Maybe she was the most skilled one in the sense that she could hit higher notes and so on, but when it comes to simple voice my favourite was Geri.

The only one who really couldn't sing was Victoria.
I mean, I always liked Victoria and I loved her style - not as much right now -, she just really can't sing, I'm surprised she made it in the band in the first place.

I always thought that they said that Mel C had the nicest voice in order to make her feel better about being the least attractive Spice Girl....

I don't think she will ave actually said that. She was ranting on Radio One the other day about how she can't wait for them to do a get together for a one-off very special charity event. This doesn't like very well with that.

I agree. In fact, I always thought Mel C. was the weakest singer. Everyone else would be singing and she would occasionally scream something in the background. And yea, they might have "bullied" her about her appearance because their image was heavily based on the fact that they were supposed to be considered attractive, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't cutting it in that department. Mel C. was butch looking, her hair was always greasy, and she had gold teeth or some sort of grill. I also remember always seeing pictures of her performing with pit stains and my girlfriends and I laughing about it at school. If she had a problem with looking sexy or feminine, she should have joined a different group. I know she was "Sporty Spice," but you can look tomboyish or athletic without being fugly. My problem with her wasn't so much that she was ugly as that she looked like she had poor hygiene and just didn't even try to look presentable. She looked like she would smell like B.O. and dirty underwear.

Mel C wasn't ugly in the spice girls, she wasn't the flashiest but she certainly wasn't unattractive.
