Default Johnny Depp's daughter had e.coli virus?

Last updated: Friday, March 23, 2007
DEPP'S GIRL HAD E.COLI VIRUS

Johnny Depp's daughter was left seriously ill after reportedly contracting the potentially-fatal E.coli virus.

The Hollywood actor's seven-year-old, Lily-Rose, was hospitalized earlier this month with what was thought to be blood poisoning.

However, production staff on Depp's latest movie have now revealed what the illness was and claim the deadly virus caused Lily-Rose's kidneys to shut down.

An insider on "Sweeney Todd" is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Everyone was shocked when we were told the real reason for Lily-Rose's illness. It was touch and go for her for a while."

Johnny - who also has a five-year-old son, John Jack, with long-term lover Vanessa Paradis - was distraught when Lily-Rose was initially hospitalized and kept a bedside vigil at the London hospital.

The 43-year-old star has often spoken about how his children have completely turned his life around.

He said: "I just want to watch my kids grow up and make sure they're healthy and happy. They are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I never thought it was possible to feel such profound, deep love. Being a dad has given me great strength, great perspective, great calm. More than anything, I love being with my family."

Yep e.coli IS a bacteria not a virus, you're right. We have it in our body i think our intestines. BIO 101 in college, it was one of the hardest bacterias to kill we had to use a combination of various antibiotics to see it deplete.

Plus there is more than one strain of e.coli and some are more difficult to kill than others. I'm happy that the little girl is on the mend.

Scary! Does anyone else remember the e. coli outbreak at an Atlanta water park? They discovered later that a child had taken a shit on one of the rides.

I bet Johnny is pissed off this is in the press. He's been pretty vocal in the past about what he;d do to paparazzi/people who came near his kids.

This is why I don't swim in public pools or go to water parks. God forbid the day I have grandchildren and they want to go to the water park (I'll take them of course, but with great trepidation!!)

Isn't it Cipro and similars that take care of e.coli and anthrax, etc.?

^ not sure what that is but e.coli is pretty resistant to antibiotics Im 100% positive that when trying to kill it amoxycillin and something else combined worked for us in college Bio.
