Britney Spears granted UK court injunction

Singer BRITNEY SPEARS has been granted a British court order preventing the UK press from printing allegations about her recent stay at a rehab clinic in Malibu, California.

Lawyers acting for the troubled TOXIC star at the High Court in London today (22MAR07) also applied for an additional order that would force British publications to reveal the sources of stories that detailed Spears' stay at the Promises clinic.

A statement from Spears' London legal team explains the singer "intends to challenge false allegations that have already been published". It goes on to explain that media outlets are being served the injunction "so as to assist them in not making the mistake of carrying out such further disclosures if approached by this person".

The star has already launched a lawsuit against some of the "false allegations" which have been circulating in some publications.

Spears first checked into ERIC CLAPTON's Crossroads treatment centre in Antigua on 14 February (07), but left the following day (15FEB07). She checked into Promises on 19 February (07), before leaving the next day (20FEB07), and then re-checked herself in on 21 February (07).

I was wondering when she was going to get "legal" over all the leaks.
Even if all that stuff did happen in rehab, it's supposed to be a place where people can rely on confidentiality.

For most stuff, I'd agree, but the people in rehab, just in case they are really trying to get clean, should be able to fully participate in the program without having every move, every word, showing up in Star and US. It's the principal, no matter who the rehabber is.

Now please stop laughing at the thought that Britney was actually trying to get clean, or actually participating in the program.
