Default 'Wreck' Britney Spears has bulimia

Britney Spears has confessed to doctors that she has been suffering from the eating disorder bulimia since she was 16.

The 25-year-old singer tearfully told rehab staff – already treating her for drug and alcohol abuse – that she “pigs out” on junk food like burgers, sweets, biscuits and ice cream then makes herself vomit to avoid putting on weight.

Britney’s nine-year nightmare, revealed in an American magazine, was confirmed by a senior source at the £24,000-a-month Promises centre in Malibu, California.

She entered the centre last month after shaving her head at a hair salon.

“Doctors are alarmed at the physical state she is in,” said the source. “They confronted her about her desperately unhealthy lifestyle and the truth came pouring out.”

Britney said she managed to stop the dangerous habit during her two pregnancies.

But as soon as sons Sean Preston and Jayden James were born, she began the desperately unhealthy cycle again in an effort to lose her added baby weight.

On top of her alcohol and alleged cocaine use, the bulimia turned her into a “human wreck”, according to the source, who added: “When she came here she was shaking and baking. Her whole body was wracked by spasms and she was hot one minute, then freezing cold the next.

“Her first week in detox was real hell. She was in a total mess but slowly she’s pulling through.”

Dietary specialists at Promises are working with doctors to help Britney conquer the eating disorder – famously suffered by Princess Diana – which was discovered when specialists realised why her medications were not working.

The source said: “For the first few days, she’d take her tablets, then go off and eat breakfast or lunch. She was throwing the whole lot up, so, naturally, her medications weren’t working. Now the medical experts know why, her progress should pick up a little speed.”

So not surprising. I mean she wasn't orange from the spray tan, it was the Cheetos.

I have never suffered from an eating disorder (except overeating) but I don't see why anybody would get any pleasure from eating a ton of food knowing they are going to make themselves throw it up. I know it's a lot more complicated than that of course. I think the feeling of throwing up is just one of the worst feelings.

If Britney has lived this hard for almost 10 years, it's a wonder she doesn't look worse than she does.

I agree. The only times Ive thrown up are after surgery (anesthetic), stomach flu (which ive had twice), and food poisoning (twice also) and its just the worst hell. Theres not many other feelings that are quite as bad. Self-induced vomiting is just not for me.

Im no doctor, but if shes been bulemic all this time that is probably the unfortunate way she kept her weight down in her hey-day...

Makes me wonder, all those paparazzi shots of her with mcdonalds, with icecream drinks, cheetos, etc...was she going on a binge?

I have cousin who has been bulemic since she was 16. Shes 10 years older than me and i remember her always looking like hell--dark circles under the eyes, grey complexion, bloated stomach, dull hair. She NEVER looked healthy and the ironic part was her weight was normal--she wasnt underweight at all. I think when she first started her weight dropped low, but not to the point of being
"too thin". I remember she came to visit once when I was about 13 for our annual Christmas party. After the party, which had about 200 people, there was TONS of catered food that was saved for the extent of the weekend. Two industrial sized sub zeros full of items from roquefort mousse to baby lamb chops...just TONS of food...and the next morning it was ALL GONE! Shed gone a binge. At the time I was horrified---i didnt totally understand what she was doing, but I knew I never would. Today Im still shocked at the amount of food she put down and wonder what havoc shes wreaked on her body

It is quite amazing to see how low celebuturds will go to make the general public feel sorry for their spoiled butts. Is this not like the fourth disease britney's been claiming in the past month or so?

As someone whos had the misfortune of struggling with the disease, I must say that bulimics don't FEEL anything when they go on a binge. The whole idea behind binge eating is to escape something. Personally, I would never actually TASTE the food when I went on a binge. Before I knew it, an entire day could have gone by where all I did was binge and purge. It's a cycle.. a robotic movement. It's a lot more deep rooted than just "I'm hungry" and then "I ate too much let me go vomit."

The way my sister describes it is that the purging itself is more an afterthought freakout. The binge is the emotional part of it, and then all of a sudden there's a freakout about the quanitity eaten and then they have to rid themselves of what they ingested-or they purge to make room for more mid-binge.

Hmm, I don't necesssarily believe this???

It would've been too hard on her body to be bulimic since 16 cuz she's a singer/dancer and toured for extended period of time when she was popular, I don't think her body could have handled it???

But it might explain her complexion (zits) and rat nest hair.

Bulimia is psychological, which is why no one can question it. The mind is a powerful thing, as we all know. I've never been bulimic and cant stand the thought of throwing up, let alone forcing myself to do it, so i cant sympathise with bulimics personally but I do know what its like to have a psychological illness.

More often than not, thats exactly how I'd end up wasting an entire day. It was one long continuous, emotional binge with strategically placed purges so that I could make room in my stomach. It's actually a very meticulous process. There were instances in which I would plan my binges a week in advance and make fantasy grocery lists for binge foods and plan the order of foods that I would eat. It's a very twisted process.

Sometimes it's hard to know when these celebs are being truthful or just fishing for sympathy.
