Default Liz Hurley's wedding gift to guests - a Bollywood movie starring herself

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1773

IT WAS the perfect union of Bollywood glamour and British pomp.

Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar celebrated their marriage in lavish style at a 15th Century castle by showing their guests a Bollywood movie of their lives.

The couple treated their 247 guests at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire to a specially-made film featuring Bollywood-style singing and dancing, in place of the formal toasts and speeches.

The lavish celebration came the day after the couple married in a secret civil ceremony accompanied by only a handful of their closest friends and relatives.

The couple's celebrity friends arrived at the castle near the Cotswolds town of Winchcombe to kick off celebrations that will last until Friday.

Sir Elton John, in dark blue tracksuit with white stripes, and his partner David Furnish flew in by helicopter, arriving 45 minutes before the ceremony began.

Other guests included Patsy Kensit, Donatella Versace, Trinny Woodall, Elle Macpherson, Tamara Mellon, and the castle's owner Henry Dent-Brocklehurst and his wife Lili Maltese. Also there were artist Tracey Emin and former Wonderbra model Eva Herzigova.

Mr Dent-Brocklehurst's mother Lady Ashcombe revealed that Miss Hurley's ex-lover Hugh Grant was on the guest list - but would not be attending.

Guests said Miss Hurley wore a 'simple but stunning' off-white chiffon dress by Donatella Versace.

A member of the wedding party said Miss Hurley, 41, and Mr Nayar, 43, had thought of their own Bollywood movie as a joke but then decided it would be a memorable alternative to toasts and speeches. "They made the film on their latest trip to India while they were finalising wedding plans," said the source.

"It took about a month on and off to shoot. It's beautifully shot and lit and there was a cast and production team of about 100 people working on it.

"Arun wears traditional Indian clothing, including a turban, and he even grew a beard for the part. Elizabeth looks absolutely stunning in the movie in a number of eye-catching saris.

"Liz and Arun sing and dance to traditional Indian songs, with the stunning backdrop of Bombay in the distance.

"Elizabeth gets to act out her dream role, as it's a beautiful love story based on their own history. She actually has a great sense of humour. She's not afraid to poke a bit of fun at themselves.

"She wanted to create the ultimate Bollywood love story - and who better to base the film on than the love story of herself and Arun."

The festivities began just before noon with the only glimpse of the pouting bride when Miss Hurley, hidden behind a pair of large sunglasses, swept into the grounds of Sudeley Castle in a blue Bentley.

Mr Nayar was spotted at the same time wearing his black tie wedding suit as he drove out of the castle, chatting animatedly on his mobile phone, and went to the Barnsley House hotel 20 miles away, where some of his relatives were staying.

Once inside the castle, Miss Hurley and the guests were hidden from view. The castle, St Mary's Church in the grounds and the marquee where the reception was held were connected by canvas corridors, meaning no one needed to set foot outside.

The celebrations included a blessing by the Rev John Partington at St Mary's.

At the reception, the bride and groom sat at the head of a grand table draped in white roses with white silk and muslin settings.

The cake was a four-tier traditional white cake and guests were served by liveried footmen in green velvet suits. The menu consisted of a five-course Henry VIII-themed meal - his sixth wife, Katherine Parr, lived at the castle.

The previous day, Miss Hurley and Mr Nayar had been walked through four dress rehearsals arranged by a glossy magazine, which has bought the rights to the wedding for an estimated 2million.

She gets to act out her dream because she can't get any good movie roles. What a gift for the guests.

She's going to regret making that movie after the divorce becomes final.
What a crappy gift for the guests.

This reminds me of some people I know.

Them: "Happy Birthday! Here's a photo of me."

Me: "Um...thanks anyway. The frame will work well for some other photos though, so I guess all is not lost."

Heheh, I would totally reuse the frame (and probably throw out the photo depending on the mood) too.

Am I the only one who'd actually like to see it?

Guess I shouldn't be admitting that.
