Scarlett Johannson to play Amazon

Moshe Diamant's Signature Pictures has made a deal to finance Amazon, a vehicle for Scarlett Johansson to play a gladiatrix from 200 B.C. who exacts vengeance on an army that destroyed her homeland. Variety says that Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain will write the script.
The trade adds that the idea for Johansson to play an Amazon warrior came from the actress, who mentioned it to screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci while they worked together on The Island. That duo will produce with Melanie Johansson, Gilles Arondeau and Alexandra Milchan-Lambert.
They drafted Blackman and McCain, who just wrote Outlander, a period Viking saga that McCain will direct for Ascendant Pictures and The Weinstein Co.; production on that project starts next June in New Zealand.

I get the appeal of a movie like that, but she's what? 5'3", meaning she is no Amazon Warrior. I'm also worried about such a talented young actress doing such films. The Island didnt work and the action/epic movies really arent doing well at all.

Well, I might rent it if it looked at all interesting or if she at least looked hot in it. But it sounds like a terrible idea.

I like her better in Lost in Translation type stuff.

Seriously! And she's like, what, 5'5" at most? Plus, they cut off their...(left? right?) one or the other breasts. How are you going to cover that up with hers being the size they are?

Oh my God, NO! I'll have to fight those "blonde Xenia" pictures in my mind now!!!
Oh well, that's a movie I won't pay to watch

If they were right handed they cut off the right breast, so it would make it easier to use the bow+arrow attire.

No way!!! That's awesome. I thought they just did it...because they felt like it.

And I actually saw something on television about the Amazons being blonde...

Erm does it really matter if shes an inch shorter tyhan legend has it?? I doubt that they measured their height specifically back then, instead of actual battle skills... that said, this whole thing sounds like a bad idea.
