According to the Evening Standard's online entertainment division ThisIsLondon.co.uk, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has signed a £10-million (R139-million) deal with American TV network NBC to host her own reality show.
The deal was brokered by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller (who also created ''Pop Idol'' and 'American Idol') within months of Fuller brokering David Beckham's $250-million (R1.7-billion) move to American soccer club LA Galaxy.
According to Fuller he was spoiled for choice when it came to getting Posh her own show.
"The Americans were falling over themselves to sign Victoria up for a TV show but we had to choose the right deal for her," he told ThisIsLondon at an Oscars after-party hosted by Elton John.
"NBC won out in the end as they have really taken a shine to Vic's hilarious sense of humour and they want to capitalise on this.
"She is a funny lady and this new series will show this to the world."
Posh has signed on for one season of the show, which will follow her fortunes during her move from The UK to America. She has plenty of star power to help her draw good ratings - she is best pals with the likes of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Jennifer Lopez, who may appear in the series.
According to Fuller the show will be hilarious, although we are forced to note that we've never even seen Posh crack a smile, let alone rip a good joke or two.
"Funny is the key word. Just remember that when the show hits our screens," said Fuller. "I can't divulge any more information about it as it's very early days, and the ink is barely dry on the deal.
"It will humanise her and give her fans an insight into what she's really like for the first time."
Yet another spoke in the wheel of the DVB (David and Victoria Beckham) brand, which - huge as it is globally - has yet to make a dent in America.
