Spears stunned the world by walking into a hair salon in Tarzana, California, on Friday night (16Feb07) and removing her entire head of hair with shaving clippers.

The 25-year-old showed up at the Mondrian hotel on the Sunset Strip sporting a green cap over a blond wig. The mother of two spent the afternoon at the star-studded hotel chain-smoking, drinking pricey cocktails and partying with friends.

The Toxic singer wore the same multi-coloured bikini top she had borrowed from a dancer earlier in the week at a New York City nightclub, along with a mismatched pink bikini bottom.

According to E! Online columnist Mark Malkin, Spears avoided the paparazzi by driving her car through the hotel's carefully hidden indoor garage.

He explains, "She was definitely having fun with her friends. The Mondrian is the kind of place you wouldn't go if you didn't want to be seen, especially during Oscar week. She wasn't exactly hiding. It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles. Lots of people were around."

If that pic in the link is a wig, she looks pretty good. The best she has looked in ages. Maybe shaving the hair thing wasn't a bad idea after all.

That is an old pic. In the wig pic from yesterday she looks hideous. Would have been better bald.

I really detest her, even more than Paris Hilton. Britney is a terrible mother, and I have no sympathy for her. She should be spending time with her kids, not partying her ass off, trying to be 18 again.
