Kim Mathers attempted suicide after Eminem beat the crap out of blowup doll lookalike

Kim Mathers, twice divorced from Eminem, admits that his treatment of her led to a suicide attempt.

After going to one of her husband's concerts, Mathers was shocked to see Eminem's public display of hatred toward her and the audience's positive response to it. "He was singing a song that was about me and he had a blow-up doll up on stage that looked like me and he was physically beating it and kicking it," says Kim, "Seeing the crowd response and everybody cheering, singing the words and laughing ... I knew that it was about me, and that night I went home and I tried to commit suicide."

Despite the couple's very public fighting, and even after the alleged suicide attempt, Kim agreed to marry Eminem a second time in January 2006 -- six years after they first divorced. Mathers says Marshall left 41 days later. Her explanation for his misogynistic attitude: Eminem's mother. Is it always the mother-in-law's fault?

I saw her talking about this on 20/20 too. She came off well in the interview that I saw, but at the same time, you have to wonder how sane she is.....

Just a side note: If I remember correctly from the other interview, Eminem said that he would NOT play that particular song in front of the hometown crowd (because everyone knows Kim) and she believed him, which is why she even went to the concert. He DID sing the song, and then started up w/the blow up doll pretending to kill her or something and Kim just lost it.....

So, just wanted to add that.

^^ Maybe I'm wrong, but from what I've seen in interviews it was when he started to make it big that their problems really began. She didn't like him being gone and such.

I'm sure she has enjoyed the use of all his money though.

They were on and off for years before he became famous. Supposedly, she would kick him out, and not let him see Hailie in the years prior to him getting big. I loved what Proof once said about them, "I don't know if they are crazy in love, love crazy or just plain crazy."

I think the problems magnified after the fame because she could no longer lead him around by the nose.

isn't that the truth? I've seen pictures of her where she has her lips outlined in black pencil. Ugh. She did look much better in her 20/20 interview. They probably did her make-up.

Yeah, she's using her eyeliner - my brother used to "see" a girl who did that. I find it's an indication of whoredom.
