Carlos Leon annoyed by Lourdes' British accent

Carlos Leon, the father of Madonna’s eldest child Lourdes, is reportedly angered that his daughter is now speaking with a British accent.

10 year old Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon was born in the US but has lived in London since she was three after mum Madonna married Guy Ritchie.

A source told the New York Daily News that Carlos was annoyed to hear that Lourdes had “a full-on British accent” at the recent UK premiere of Arthur and the Invisibles.

Madonna’s spokesperson Liz Rosenberg insists the reports are exaggerated but: “It wouldn’t be surprising if Madonna’s daughter has some sort of English accent, since she lives in London most of the time. To me, she always sounds a little American and a little British. All this seems perfectly normal to me.”

“What I can tell you, she’s a natural beauty - no surprise there. She’s frankly a very unspoiled and lovely child, and for that I give credit to Madonna, Guy and Carlos.”

LOL really now. I lived in Hawaii and Texas, grew up in N.Y. I took a bit of accent on, I guess it depends on how long you lived in a place. I didn't turn into a Don Ho Cowboy though...

How can one be annoyed by Lola's accent, when she's a child who has lived much of her life in the UK, and not be annoyed by Detroit born and bred Madonna's fake accent?

I think she looks so much like Madonna. I can't believe she's ten years old, I feel like it was just a couple of years ago that Evita came out and Madonna was all pregnant and happy.

He actually seems to be utilized quite a bit as a babysitter. Therefore, this is just media b.s. because he knows damn full well the child's had an accent all her freaking life. G-d, these people....

Children pick up languages and accents easily, so she most likely just started sounding like the people around her.

Her whore mother on the other hand is a big poser.

Kids absorb and adopt the local accent (even language) of where they happen to live. If Carlos doesn't like it maybe he should volunteer to take his kid for 6 months of the year so she isn't 'tainted'. However, there's absolutely NO excuse for Madge's excruciating 'British' accent.

When they move back to NY she will have a new accent. I wonder if Madonna will keep the English one or take on a NY accent..
