SCOTTISH health minister Andy Kerr criticised Kate Moss yesterday for projecting an image to teens that smoking is a "cool" thing to do. Accusing Moss of being "blasé" and "uncaring" about smoking in public, he added: "I would ask her to understand the impact she's having on young people's lives. I don't want to sound like an old fuddy-duddy but iconic figures set examples and sometimes these examples are inappropriate. I would want people to look at their behaviour and ensure that they're not setting what is a very dangerous example." Stating that there was "age-old evidence" to show that the smoking habits of "pop stars, rock stars and actors" were a strong influence on younger generations, Kerr even offered to help the supermodel with her addiction. "I am happy, if she's ever in Scotland that she'll get good smoking cessation advice when she's here," he said. "But when she's not, I would ask her to refrain in terms of public smoking." How does one manage to worry about her smoking while overlooking the drug abuse? Hell, she can't manage to refrain from smoking or drugs while she has her own child. What makes him think she'd care about other people's children?

Why should she care, really? People have a right to live their own lives the way they see fit and to fight their own personal battles without having to worry about raising other peoples' kids. I'm no Kate fan, I think she's a dumbass and seriously overrated. But smoking cigs is the very last of that woman's problems.

i think that's to do with one still being legal where as the other isn't.....
