Dina Lohan just doesn't know when to stop!

As a Hollywood mom, DINA LOHAN could sit back and watch the frenzy going on around her daughter, but instead, she's choosing to fight back as she gives ET and entertainment correspondent GINA GLICKMAN full access to her trip from New York to Los Angeles to reunite with LINDSAY in rehab.

"I'm so proud of her for making that step, under a microscope -- bettering herself and still wanting to continue to work," Dina says of Lindsay's decision to enter rehab. "I wanted her to not work, but she said, 'Mommy, this is what I do.' And this is what she does every day -- this is her life."

Something else Dina realizes is a part of Lindsay's life is the glaring and intrusive paparazzi, and she feels it's time for a dramatic change.

"Well, it's obvious they fabricate [stories], they make it up," she says of the tabloids. "It's not even true and that's the hurtful part. Someone has to stop the madness and the lies."

And the paparazzi's (sometimes dangerous) invasiveness is one of the main reasons she's speaking out.

"I'm doing this now because when she finishes up the program, they're just going to be following her to see if she messes up," she says. "It's just a horrible thing, and someone's going to get seriously hurt."

Dina says she'll do what it takes to take care of her daughter, including surrounding Lindsay with the friends she's had forever because there are some "sketchy" people in her life. "I have nothing to lose here, this is my child," she says. "Any mother out there listening would fight for their child till death."

I think the best thing she could do for her daughter is to stay the hell away from her. She's one of the reasons Lindsay is a wreck in the first place.

Wow. She took a reporter with her on a flight to visit her daughter in rehab and she still can't understand why the media just won't leave them alone? Good grief. What a media-slut.

She needs her reunion with her daughter videotaped. Sad, sad, sad.

This woman is in complete denial of the fact that she is ultimately responsible for most of her daughter's problems. If she'd spent more time being a real mother to her as opposed to her best friend and if she'd 'protected' her from those 'skanky' people in her life, Lindsay might have stood a chance. The very fact that she never allows Lindsay to take responsibility for her actions and always blames everyone else, proves to me she just doesn't get it and likely never will. And let's not even get started on the father..........

If I had this for a Mom, I'd be totally embarrassed. I'd go one step further with 'We're just friends' post upthread and say worst Mom among all celebrity mom of all time!

why does she always say "mommy" ?? Lindsay is 20.....dina thinks shes old enough to go out partying every night but not to stop calling her mom 'mommy'??

and its fine if she wants to call her mommy but lol....its funny that dina seems to treat her like a friend and like one of her girlfriends the rest of the time

When you party with your underage kid, don't act shocked when they end up cooling it in rehab.

And what vicious lies did the media make up, anyway? They've insinuated Lindsay is an addict for the last 2 years and apparently that's turned out to be true.

It's hard to decide which of her parents is worse, but I'm leaning towards Dina. I still hate her for making that "I'm not my daughter's keeper" comment. Yeah, she's not--unless there's a camera crew or publicity involved!
