Lindsay Lohan -- back to work after 9 days in rehab

Lindsay Lohan just landed a foolproof excuse to justify her increasing absences from Wonderland: She's back at work.

Just nine days after admitting herself into the posh Los Angeles rehab facility, Lohan was back in front of the camera Friday as production resumed on her temporarily stalled thriller, I Know Who Killed Me. The news was first reported by E! Online senior editor Marc Malkin.

"She is doing fine right now," confirmed publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick. "She is allowed to work and then she returns to treatment at night."

Earlier this month, the 20-year-old's physical condition, not her efforts toward recovery, had thwarted filming. Production was halted at the start of the month when Lohan underwent an emergency appendectomy. She only recently received the all-clear from her doctor to resume her I Know Who Killed Me duties—namely, portraying a stripper.

Lohan was given the go-ahead to continue her pole-dancing efforts earlier this week; on Thursday, she attended her first rehearsal since the start of the year.

Lohan will be back in front of the cameras today, with shooting expected to last a couple more weeks.

Which means, for the time being, Lohan's days are going to be fully loaded.

Although she is expected to be on set for 13 to 14 hours a day, Lohan will continue receiving treatment at the Laurel Canyon rehab facility.

But her increasing day trips from the facility have come under scrutiny.

On Monday, paparazzi snapped photos of the Mean Girls star entering her West Hollywood condo. On Wednesday, she was photographed lunching with friends at the high-profile eatery Newsroom Café. On Thursday, Lohan again left the grounds, taking her car into a Beverly Hills auto shop and attending rehearsals for her new film.

Zelnick, however, defends Lohan's outings: "She is not in some sort of lock-down."

The publicist also disputed blog-powered reports that Lohan's agent was considering dropping the tabloid queen or that production companies were looking to relieve themselves of her acting services.

One field trip Lohan opted out of was the Sundance Film Festival, where her latest movie, Chapter 27, was screened. She stars with Jared Leto in the dramatization of John Lennon's assassination.

It's also unclear whether Lohan will be attending Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles; she's nominated along with her Bobby costars as Best Ensemble.

Lohan checked herself into Wonderland on Jan. 17, calling it a "proactive decision to take care of my health." She also asked, in vain as it turns out, for her privacy to be respected.

Yeah, she's there of her own volition, but you'd think she might actually want to get something out of it. She's screwing only herself if she's keeping herself from getting better.
