UK Big Brother's Jade Goody eyes a tour of India

Jade Goody, the reality TV star at the heart of the Channel 4 Celebrity Big Brother racism row, has announced her intention to tour India.

After returning to the house that made her famous, Jade had numerous clashes with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

On one occasion Jade referred to her as "Shilpa poppadom".

After being evicted from the house and entering a media storm about her comments, she is now keen to repair her image and soothe relations with disgruntled Indians.

In typical Jade fashion, she told Channel 5's The Wright Stuff: "I'm thinking about going over there because I've been invited over there. I don't know who by but they are high-up people."

According to the Sun newspaper, the 25-year-old mother-of-two visited the south Asian country's high commission yesterday to get a visa for the trip.

A source told the tabloid: "She can't go due to her Big Brother contract until after the final show.

"She won't take a TV crew with her, she wants to do this on her own."

As well as harming her image in the public eye, Jade has been dropped as a patron by the charity Action Against Bullying while the Perfume Shop chain has suspended her perfume, Shh… from sale in stores.
