Negative review of 'Dirt' angers Courteney Cox Arquette

Courteney Cox is shocked at the brutal criticism and reviews she has received for her new TV show "Dirt."

The star plays tabloid magazine editor Lucy Spiller on the series and took one particular review very personally. She explains, "There have been some great reviews for the show that made me feel really good and some that were so brutal."

Cox was appalled after reading a particularly harsh analysis in the San Francisco Chronicle which read, "No offense intended to Cox, but she's not the type of woman that men tend to imagine in the masturbation arena."

An outraged Cox replies, "That's not even saying like, 'Courteney's not a good actor,' that's actually saying 'You're not sexy!' I mean how brutal is that? I do have this one scene where I use a vibrator, but like not one person in the whole world can imagine 'maybe' masturbating over me? Not one? God!"

I saw her say this on Jimmy Kemmel(sp?). I think she got a laugh out of it. I actually got caught up on Dirt this weekend and love it.

I think she's extremely sexy! Guys jerk off to Paris Hilton for crying out loud, so I'd just call that bad taste.

I was disappointed with the show. I thought it would be as good, or better than Nip/Tuck. I'm still watching, hoping it will get better.

Your not alone.. I'm leaning to not liking it as well. Maybe I just have to watch a few more episodes?

I remember her or David bringing this up on Jimmy Kimmel and I think what the critic meant was that CC's image is more of a whole-some kind of girl--Not the kind of person most guys think of when they masturbate. I don't think it was to mean that she is unattractive.

I like this show-don't get the butterflies though while watching some of my favorite scenes from Nip/Tuck. This show has potential, needs to expand. I really hope the show doesn't end up being about Lucy, Don, two messed up celebrities in love and a dead girl hanging all over Don. All of that is getting boring already.
