James Franco refuses to date Lindsay Lohan, sends her over the edge

It may be her unrequited infatuation with James Franco that finally sent her over the edge and into drug and alcohol rehab at the Wonderland Center in L.A. Wednesday, sources tell us.

The handsome “Spider-Man” star rebuffed her at Prince’s Golden Globes after-party at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel Monday night, reducing Lohan to tears, a fellow guest tells us.

“She came with her manager, Jason Weinberg, and a girlfriend, but she was mostly solo for the whole night,” says our source. “Most people were in a good mood — except for her. She seemed lost. She was trying to get James’ attention, and he wouldn’t give her anything. She was smoking a lot, not drinking in front of him, and then she went into a bedroom. From there, she went back to trying to get James’ attention again, and he was ignoring her. She ran out crying, with the girlfriend following her.”

This was about 3:30 a.m.; Lohan was reportedly found passed out in a hotel hallway about 6 a.m. Lohan first met the chiseled-with-chops Franco (above) here in June at the premiere party for “A Prairie Home Companion” at the Hudson Hotel. “She was really taken with him,” says another source. “She and her friends were going on to Bungalow 8, and he went along.”

Just for fun, the two filmed a trailer together that was used in the film “Holiday.” People mag reported that they hit karaoke night at Guy’s in L.A. in October and two nights later danced together at Area in West Hollywood.

But last year, the 20-year-old “Bobby” star was linked with Harry Morton, Joaquin Phoenix, Sean Lennon, Jared Leto, Wilmer Valderrama, Brett Ratner, Johnny Knoxville and Diana Ross’ son, Evan, among others.

Franco, 28, who dated rocker and actress Marla Sokoloff for years and tends to be monogamous, got interested in somebody else “and is very happy in his relationship with his girlfriend,” another source tells us.

Franco even refused a pricey watch Lohan tried to give him. It’s now the second watch she wears, allegedly as a painful reminder of him.

Since the Wonderland Center touts that it also treats “love addicts who believe the perfect partner is waiting for them,” maybe they can help.

What makes you say that? At 3:30 am she was crying and left, at 6:00 she was passed out. She didn't hook up, she went somewhere and drank/drugged herself into a stupor and then passed out before she could make it home.

She obviously drinks because she can't stand her herself, either.

If she were in school with kids her own age, this crap wouldn't be happening. Or at least we wouldn't be reading about it. Go to college, Lindsay. It didn't hurt Jodie Foster's career to take some time off.

Does it not strike anyone else as odd that they tout themselves as a rehab center for love addicts? WTF is a love addict? Everyone wants to be loved, but bed hopping is not the same as looking for love. I hate that this society is becoming increasingly interested in pathologizing every negative part of life.

Why on earth would James Franco touch Lilo with a ten foot pole? she's almost as gross as Britney at this point. I love James. He's talented and beautiful. I've read he's gay, but I refuse to believe it.

I have never heard of James Franco, but he sounds like a sensible guy with good taste. He doesn't want to associate with this heavy boozing, heavy smoking, heavy drugging(?) trainwreck. Plus maybe the idea of hopping in the sack with a young chick who's probably screwed or blown half of Hollywood disgusted him.
