Spears quietly checked into Sanctuary, a spa in Arizona, on New Year’s Day, according to Life & Style weekly.

“With these celebrities, ‘exhaustion’ sometimes means something else and a little rest at a spa sometimes actually translates into something a little more serious,” says a source.

Spears’ rep couldn’t be reached for comment, but L&S reports that the singer’s parents are urging their daughter to go into therapy.

“It’s just been heartbreaking for her parents to watch Britney on this downward spiral,” an “insider” told the mag. “It’s so sad.”

I don't think she's hit bottom yet. It'll happen, but not for a few more months.

^^You guys said it right. I was trying to phrase a reply and I couldn't get it right. I think it's too early for rehab for her. She's not yet at rock bottom.

And when she DOES go to rehab (and she will), it'll be a big production, with family intervention and the whole thing. We'll definitely know all about it when it happens. Until then, enjoy the show!

^^ Then she will spill her guts & baby pics to Vanity Fair, get the public's sympathy and move towards her album release later in 2007. I think the whole 'bad girl' image was all part of the master plan.

Geesh, if she goes to rehab before LL, I will be shocked. There are many more than need rehab before Brit. For the last two years she's practically been preggo...then she had a few weeks of crazy partying, I hardly see that as rehab material.

I think you're giving her way too much credit as far as intelligence goes. What is it that she has to do to prove exactly how fucked up she is??

Plus, one reason brit has for getting help before Lindsay is that Britney is someone's MOTHER! Lindsay is a selfish 20 year old ditz, she hurts mostly herself whereas Brit has the potential to damage far more than that.

They actually say it's an exclusive spa in this article, the writer then speculates whether rehab is coming soon....

Somehow she doesn't seem the rehab type to me. I think she's actually doing the partying thing to try and include herself in the current Hollywood "20-something" crowd. She doesn't strike me as the type to get hooked on any of that. She probably is some lost chick who is trying to find friends wherever she can get them and, in the process, makes some horrid decisions.

I have little respect for her, don't get me wrong, but I don't think she and Linds are in the same category.

Isn't this the same place she's gone numerous times? At one point wasn't there speculation that she would stay there the last trimester of the first pregnancy and have the baby in AZ?

I agree that Brit & LL are NOT in the same category, I just think its funny that everyone is hollering she needs rehab when she's went out a total of what 3-5 weeks?

I think you have a good point there, Bella. After having a couple of kids, she may no longer appeal as much to the "young" crowd, and is trying to bring herself back into that light.
