Pitt falls for Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater
Actor and Jolie visit ‘Building of the 20th Century’ for his upcoming birthday
Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater looms behind Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on Thursday, Dec. 7, in Mill Run, Pa. Pitt ‘was incredibly well-informed about architecture’ said curator Cara Armstrong.

MILL RUN, Pa. - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie visited Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpiece, where they celebrated the actor's upcoming birthday, Fallingwater's curator of education said.
The unique home spans Mill Run, a creek that flows through woods about 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Wright built the home for department store magnate Edgar Kaufmann Sr. in the 1930s. The American Institute of Architects voted it the “Building of the 20th Century.”
“Brad said he had wanted to experience Fallingwater ever since he took an architectural history course in college,” said curator Cara Armstrong. “He and I talked quite a bit about design and art. He was incredibly well-informed about architecture.”
Armstrong said she led Pitt and Jolie on a two-hour tour Thursday that was followed by a private birthday celebration for Pitt in Fallingwater's living room. The actor will be 43 on Dec. 18.
“Brad said he had a visual sense of Fallingwater but experiencing it in person, hearing the sound of the waterfall cascading under the house and smelling the wood from the fireplace, was better than anything he could have imagined,” Armstrong said.
Pitt's latest movie, “Babel,” is now in theaters. Jolie, 31, has been filming “A Mighty Heart,” based on a memoir written by Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl. Jolie's new film, “The Good Shepherd,” will be released Dec. 22.

He says somewhere that he allways wanted to visit this architectural wonder.
So I guess he was thrilled that Angelina remembered and made him an early birthday present.
And I think they look cute in that pic- it's cold out there so of course they are all wrapped up..but they look more toghether than in the shoots we get when paps chase them around.

Fallingwater is a very cool destination.
It's a super place to learn all about Wright.

I remember learning about this house in an architecture elective class. Frank Lloyd Wright was certainly innovative.
Out of curiousity (& insomnia) I just checked the official website, and an in-depth tour lasts about 2 hours, and costs $55. For us peons, that is.

Brangelina In Town For Pitt's Secret Birthday Present
MILL RUN, Pa. -- The workers at Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater got quite a surprise Thursday afternoon when Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie showed up for a tour of the estate.
According to a spokesman for Fallingwater, Pitt and Jolie arrived just before 3 p.m. for the tour, Jolie's gift to Pitt for his birthday.
"Brad said he had wanted to experience Fallingwater ever since he took an architectural history course in college," Fallingwater's curator of education Cara Armstrong said. "He and I talked quite a bit about design and art. He was incredibly well-informed about architecture."
The couple took a two-hour private focused tour, led by Armstrong, who described the couple as "very gracious and very engaged in the house."
"Brad said he had a visual sense of Fallingwater but experiencing it in person, hearing the sound of the waterfall cascading under the house and smelling the wood from the fireplace was better than anything he could have imagined," Armstrong said.
After the tour, Jolie had arranged to have champagne and caviar sent in, which the couple shared in a private birthday celebration in Fallingwater's living room. Afterward, they invited the staff to join them and encouraged them to take the "snacks" home.
Arrangements for the visit began about a week before Thanksgiving when staff at Fallingwater received a call from Jolie's personal assistant in Asia.
