Britney Spears and Drugs?

According to Perez Hilton:

While many Hollywood insiders have been whispering (very loudly) that Britney has been "partying" very hard lately, In Touch Weekly is the first publication to print a report of the mother's drug-taking habits.

In their new issue, on newsstands now, In Touch reports (and they got this through their legal department, so it must be pretty solid; they'd never risk printing something like this if it weren't true - it's too litigious):

- On November 27th, Britney paid a visit to the restaurant Dan Tana's in West Hollywood.

- This is the infamous night when an out-of-control Spears was seen exiting the eatery with a glass of wine as she walked to her car.

- While inside, Spears paid a visit to the ladies' room, where the pop star plopped her pursed down on the counter and in front of several witnesses opened her bag to reveal a bounty of pills inside.

- "It looked like a pharmacy in there - I have never seen so many pills," an eyewitness says.

- "There was a bottle of Paxil (an antidepressant) and a bottle of Xanax (for anxiety) that she took out and put on the counter."

Mixing these drugs (and possibly other) drugs with alcohol is extremely dangerous.

In addition to that one visit to the ladies room, Britney has been spending A LOT of time in the bathrooms of clubs and after-hours parties lately....engaging in various activities.

Thankfully, though, the bad stretch seems to be behind Spears and she has curtailed her hard-partying ways.

It's strange that these people can have all the wealth and fame in the world, and yet seem incredibly unhappy. It's even more surprising that a million more little children look up to celebrities like Spears, Hilton and Lohan and wish for the same fame, without realising that it does not always bring good things.

Is it believable that Britney could be so stupid as to mix medication with alcohol and (alleged) cocaine use? Especially as she has recently given birth and has two small children at home? If it is true, how stupid and reckless can one person be...?

Britney Spears' pill claims

LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Britney Spears has reportedly turned to medication to help her get through her split from Kevin Federline.

The 25-year-old singer, who filed for divorce last month, has been seen carrying several types of anti-depressants in her handbag.

On November 27 Britney dined at Dan Tana's restaurant in West Hollywood - where she was also spotted carrying a glass of red wine out to her car before taking the wheel - and during a visit to the powder room a fellow diner caught a glimpse inside her handbag.

The source told In Touch Weekly magazine: "It looked like a pharmacy in there - I have never seen so many pills.

"There was a bottle of Paxil, an antidepressant, and a bottle of Xanax, which treats anxiety, that she took out and put on the counter."

The directions fr both these drugs state they should not be mixed with alcohol.

Britney - mother to 15-year-old Sean Preston and three-month-old Jayden James - has now promised to curb her hard partying and apologised to her fans.

In a statement on her official website, Britney said: "I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets new underwear line!

"It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends. Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected.

"I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me. I'm just getting started!"

I'm sure she has access to and takes any sort of pills available, but I dunno if I believe this particular account though. Who puts their prescription bottles OUT on the bathroom counter at an expensive restaurant? If it's true, then she did it on purpose, maybe to garner sympathy for her mental state.
