NEWLYWED star Tom Cruise’s wife Katie is set to kick up a stink — after he spent £2.5million on a British home in the middle of a pongy SEWERAGE project. Tom, 44, bought the six-bed home in exclusive Dormans Park estate in West Sussex this week.
But he did not know it is at the centre of a huge development to link 64 homes, including his own, to mains sewage.
For the past six months residents have faced a stench as workmen dig out existing cesspits. The £2.2million project will not be finished until next year.
A resident added: “The stink is appalling. Tom and Katie will have to walk around with clothes-pegs on their noses.
“I can’t believe they have viewed the house.”
The house — where Tom plans to live with Katie, 27, and their baby daughter Suri — is just three miles from the HQ of his Scientology cult.

Because the English are 'more intelligent and cultured'. At least according to Gwenyth Paltrow. Their cucumbers are better too. A better question is why did Tom take his best man on his honeymoon with Katie. I've heard that 2's company, and 3's a crowd, so Katie's gonna have to find something to do with her self. This little scenario has the makings of a wacky sitcom, like a "3's Company" for the new millinuem. The Husband, the Wife, and the Husband's boyfriend.
