Lindsay Lohan's new hangout: AA

November 30, 2006 -- LINDSAY Lohan is flirting with sobriety. After a hard weekend of partying with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, Lohan - who's been sporting an Alcoholics Anonymous pin - has apparently had enough. A Los Angeles spy reports seeing her yesterday at a 7:30 a.m. AA meeting near her apartment in the Sierra Towers. A friend of Lohan confirmed, "She has attended several meetings and has hopefully decided to turn her life around - this time for good. She is out of control." Lohan skipped Thanksgiving with her mom, Dina, and her family because she knew "someone would force an intervention on her." So Dina - who likes a party almost as much as her wild-child daughter - has arrived in L.A. to convince Lindsay to stay home some nights. The actress is filming "The Best Time of Our Lives" with Keira Knightley for the next five weeks - and then, friends hope "she will really get serious about getting sober. And drop out of the limelight for a while." A rep for Lohan declined comment.

I'll vote for that. However, I am going to add that her mother should stay the fuck away from her. She's the one who "likes a party almost as much as her wild-child daughter" and she will NOT help get this girl sober. Please, any of us who have EVER had what you might consider a "drinking problem" knows this. She needs somebody clean to hang out with, not someone who's going to say "you know what'd make you feel better? A drink, some coke, some vicodin...". Stay away from her, you filthy coat-tail riding whore of an unfit mother!

Good for her.

As much as I enjoy watching the stars screw up, it's also GREAT to see someone who's obviously out of control make a move to get it together.

I'm torn.

On the one hand I feel sorry for her and I want her to clean up her act.

On the other hand, she's just a spoiled, ungrateful bitch and it's such fun watching her going down.

I'm all for it, please go to AA, AAA, NA, whatever helps get you sober, Linds.

And maybe try to find someplace with a bunch of adequate books to read while you're at it.

I wonder if Lindsay is aware that the second "A" in "AA" is for "anonymous," and that wearing a pin to show the world that you're attending kind of smacks of the same sort of insincere "Look at me!" that waving her new handcuffs around did.

And yes, I know that anonymity is a personal choice and not a requirement in AA, but the pin tactic smells to me like someone who is wanting to be able to say, "Geez, back off, I don't have a problem, I go to AA!" than someone who sincerely thinks they need help.

^^This is how i feel about this too, Lalaland. I don't think Lindsay is anywhere near being ready to really actually get clean. I think her whole life revolves around the Hollywood party scene, and i just can't see her making a totally clean break (that is what it would take) from that. (Wow this is actually rather pathetic when you think about it....The girl is NOT EVEN 21; NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH to be going to these nightclubs!, and here we are talking about how she's had WAY too much of them & needs to totally get them away from them! Wow, talk about burning out at a really young age!) It seems like Blowhan just can't bear to miss one night away from the Hollywood nightclub scene, because she's scared she'll miss something if she's not there or something, or she just loves that *thrilling*, *fun* party atmosphere so much, she can't stay away. AND cocaine abuse is a super-hard habit to break. IMO, nearly impossible if you remain where cocaine is all around you.--WAY TOO TEMPTING. She won't be able to stop doing the coke unless she gets the hell out of Hollywood & moves away. Then again, Lindsay doesn't even have a real home-base--a nurturing home environment, where she can go & get off drugs with parents/older role models, to care for her & provide support. Her mother is, i believe, a HORRIBLE person who is just as bad as Lindsay with the out-of-control partying & coke addiction--which is worse when you're a nearly-50-year-old mother of several kids.... And her father is in freaking JAIL. And this is why i lately have a hard time making fun of Lindsay, and actually feel a twinge of pity & sadness for her. She really does seem to be all alone.

^^Exactly Mel. Like i said above, Lindsay needs to be around caring, nurturing people who can properly "parent" her or at least give her some much-needed guidance & support. Dina Lohan is the opposite of that. She's "Blowhan Extraordinaire". The "Senior Blowhan". I really hope that Lindsay has SOMEONE, an older adult, who can take her under their wing and provide some much-needed "parenting". But with that coked-out, money-hungry, fame-whore, leather-faced b*tch Dina as a mother, her father being in jail, the man she said had acted like a "father & grandfather" to her having just died the past week (Robert Altman), and even her good friend's FATHER having f*cked her (i'm talking about her good friend Rumer's father, Bruce Willis), it's no wonder poor Lindsay is spiraling out of control, all alone. I'm actually really starting to feel bad for the girl.

I really want to believe that Lindsay is cleaning up her act, but I don't.
Sorry, but if she gets clean then the papparazzi will have no reason to follow her around. Her wild partying/behavior is what keeps everyone talking. No way she's giving that up.

I too have a soft spot for Lindsay and I really hope that she can eventually overcome her demons. If this is true, then good for her...honestly though, I really think she needs rehab and to kept FAR away from Parisite and the like...

I will believe it when i start to see the transformation in her. I think along the way she forgot the reason she became famous was because of her acting rather than her partying. Didn't she start going down the hill when she hooked up with Nicole and they started dressing alike and doing the whole high school clique thing...?

I'm confused (ok, it doesn't take much); if she needs to go to AA; how come that most nights when she's coming out of a club the paps get pictures of her driving her car home?
How many laws do these people need to break in one night? (under age drinking, DUI, drugs?....)

Page 6 reports that Lindsay Lohan was spotted at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting yesterday morning in Los Angeles. Says a friend of Lohan’s:

“She has attended several meetings and has hopefully decided to turn her life around - this time for good. She is out of control.”

There’s been no comment from Lohan, but her vagina released a statement through its spokesorgan saying, “This couldn’t come at a worse possible time. Brit’s vag is out there flashing its stuff for the paparazzi everyday and I’m nowhere to be seen. Let me breathe!”
