Jet have blasted Madonna, claiming she only "became famous for masturbating".

The outspoken Australian rockers - whose hits include 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' and 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth is' - insist the 'Hung Up' singer never had to work hard to be successful, instead relying on her sex appeal.
They have also branded her classic hit 'Like A Virgin' a joke.

Drummer Chris Cester said: "Can everyone just shut the f**k about Madonna? 'Like A Virgin'? Please. How the hell did she become so f****g famous? What for, masturbating? Everyone does that love!"

Madonna is not the only female star to recently be attacked by Jet.
The band have written a song ridiculing Paris Hilton over her homemade sex tape.

She's dedicated (Or needy/greedy) as hell. I mean seriously, who else has had as long a career as her? Cher can't even compete with her (she's never had as much consistent mainstream success as Madonna)

Jet aren't a bad band - if you want to hear them download "Are you gonna be my girl", "Cold Hard Bitch" or Umm, "Roll Over DJ".

As for slamming Madonna, I don't think she can sing but she's been around a lot longer than they have & I guess she's paid her dues.

they are a pretty good band but obviously they havent quite made it big outside of Australia. Although their comments were sorta funny it still annoys me when "celebs" slam other celebs.

Madonna's got more pr savvy than talent, but that's my personal opinion. I was a teen when she started out and said that she was going to rule the world, her words exactly.

I am not a Madonna fan or a Jet fan but it doesn't offend me when celebs as such take pot shots at each other. We here at GR do it all the time! And I know someone will eventually say that Jet are nowhere near as famous as Mads so what would they know.

I find that a strange response because none of us here are remotely as famous as any of them and we all take swipes on celebs on a daily basis! Is the more famous celebs the only ones allowed to dish it out? Just a question. As I mentioned I am neither a fan of any of them. I am just wondering out loud I guess!

It doesn't bother me either, in fact it's pretty entertaining, but once these celebrities open their mouths, that leaves them open to criticism as well. I just see some irony in it. Like, who are they to critique Madonna? What did she do to them? They're just out for publicity, I guess. But you notice they're picking on female popstars. Afraid to pick a fight with their own kind, maybe.

They only speak the truth. Its always been my opinion that Madonna's singing voice is not all that great.
