MADGE: I'LL DIRECT A MOVIE

MADONNA plans to become a film director - after being "encouraged" by husband Guy Ritchie.

The singer - panned for her big-screen roles - admitted: "If I want to make an impact with a film, then I should direct one, not act in one."
She said Ritchie, who made Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, had spoken with her about becoming a director.


But the Evita star refused to talk about her first project behind the camera, adding: "I don't wanna jinx myself."


Swept Away, her last movie, was directed by Ritchie and went straight to DVD after a mauling from critics.


The 48-year-old star spoke about her film ambitions in an interview with Kirsty Wark which will be screened on BBC4 at 9pm on Sunday.


She also revealed that she would "absolutely" like to adopt more children from Malawi - despite being criticised over her controversial adoption of David Banda.

Well, she is a dictator at heart, but somehow I don't see her having enough insight to make a decent film. What I do see happening is her making a film that promotes the glories of Kaballah.

I loved "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch". Since he got together with her, he's gone downhill fast.

Madonna kind of reminds me of Victoria Beckham--looking for that elusive dream career. I'm not sure if film directing is Madonna's field, either, since all she knows how to do is 1) shock and 2) preach.
